i asked this before and can't remember if anyone responded...

does anyone else remember PANJO'S PIZZA???

i know they had one in the town and country area when i was growing up in houston in the late 70's, early 80's...that was some good pizza!

actually, my favorite pizza is in Little Rock at a place called Shotgun Dan's...crispy thin crust...it's really good!!!

Yeah, my parents used to take me to Panjo's. What about Pipe Organ Pizza? There was a guy who would play a pipe organ and take requests. Those were the good ol days. I don't remember much about the pizza though.

Pipe Organ, as I remember it, was in Memorial City Mall...where Luby's is now....i had a birthday party there as a kid and got the Han Solo laser gun...funny what you remember!

MadMax- I grew up near Panjo's. It was good as far as I can remember. Wasn't there a Pipe Organ Pizza around there, too? I've heard of Shotgun Dan's because my wife is from Little Rock also. Never been there, though. My in-laws live in Fayetteville now.

Another excellent choice! I had forgotten about Gino's East. If you want the best pizza in the country Chicago is the place to go. I came to Houston to be able to watch the Rockets in person, definitely not for the pizza. :)

    Don't laugh...

I can get those party pizzas for a dollar at the grocery store sometimes...pop one in the oven and then top it with hot sauce...devilishly addictive

I used to love Mr. Gatti's, but the one near me closed down. :(

Got a new one. Macho's Pizza here in Dallas.

I had a slice of bacon and grilled chicken last night...yum!

RM95's Girl and I each had a slice, an order of cheese bread and a big pitcher of beer for $11. Nice.

I am glad this thread came back.

We have a Papa John's opening soon near our house. Any PJ recommendations?

In Houston (and in SoCal), California Pizza Kitchen makes a good BBQ Chicken pizza.

In Austin, Conan's and Brick Oven both make great pies.

Uno's, while they were in Houston, made good Chicago deep dish pizzas. I loved their crust :)

I also like the Bacon Cheese Burger pizza at Dominos, which they dropped from their menu :( but you can still order the toppings individually :)

Man, I feel so deprived after reading this thread. I LOOOOVE pizza but haven't had any in nearly 7 months. I've been trying very hard to layoff the greasy, fatty foods ... but I think I MUST get me a pizza for dinner tonight!

My favorites are Papa Johns (cuz of the garlic and cheese sauce), and Pizza Hut Deep dish.

I used to eat about a large by myself. And I used to have pizza around 2-3 times a week.

Now I have maybe 2-3 slices max maybe once a month. :(

Any pizza with goat cheese or feta cheese kicks ass!

Pizza Hut pan supreme, meat lovers, and Totinos sausage put 30 lbs on me when I was in college. When I was in high school, Pizza Hut had this pizza pie called the Priazzo...IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Whenever my ex's aunts would go up to Chicago, I always asked them to bring back some pizza pies...I forgot the name of the pizza place, but OMG, they were from pizza heaven!!! They were worth the $25.00 for each one they brought...Damn I'm hungry!!!

I've always wanted to go to Barry's Pizza, but have yet to. Is it any good?

BWHead...my Uncle lives within walking distance of Patsy Grimaldi's (he lives near the bottom of Park Slope in Brooklyn) and he took me there when I visited him two years ago. You are absolutely correct. It is an awesome pizza. I wish they delivered to SW Houston!

I guess Mike Piazza is my favorite. I don't know of any other.

Seriously, Pizzeria Due in downtown Chicago is the best I have had.
