My favorite personal stories deal with:... #1): My posting about my Dad passing, and everyone giving kind words... 2) The squirrel saga and the fun we had with it... 3) Words of encouragement/advice about the likelihood of me going through a divorce with my wife, it was a real low point in my life... Some posters like Falcon's Talon and others went beyond ordinary empathy with profound website information via e-mail for "Divorcing Dads", and such...thank you again... (update:... ...My wife and I have reconciled before the divorce was finalized...We have done much talking, expressing ourselves and even crying to come full circle in getting at what we want, and how to come to grips with things we have both done wrong and to move on in our lives together...which is what we both truly want...It has been a very painful, and emotional experience, but things look brighter everyday...I talk to her and my two young daughters everyday, and next year I plan to move back with her in LaVergne, TN... 4) Also...Meeting Manny this past summer has been great...He is a good person with a good heart and I look forward to spending time again when the time comes... I wish I could meet others...and I probably will!
No Kidding, me too. It's wierd trying to explain CC.net...now CF.net. This is with out a doubt my most favorite site. I am back in Saudi right now and the first thing I wanted to do when I hooked up my laptop was come to this BBS. All you guys, most of you , make this site such a great experience. I am siked, i just found out that the ESPN channel I have here in Saudi Arabia has been upgraded! I get to watch all the College Bowl Games, NFL Games, and some NBA! Including the Lakers and Rockets game on Christmas (here it will be LIVE on around 4am on the 26th). No doubt I will be in chat.
Yes she is. I stayed off of Murfreesboro Rd. when I went out there to see Dave in September. Yeah, someone got murdered two doors down from our hotel room.
ROXRAN, I'm not lying when I say this, but that is the best news I've heard in a long time. Congrats and I hope it works out!!!
The one that jumps to my mind is after September 11 when we weren't sure about the safety of a couple of NYC resident BBS member - Almu and mcmark. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21879 The other was hearing Lance Zuerlein on the Sportsradio610am morning show refer to a salary cap discussion thread between myself, aelliot and Heypartner.
Geez davo! HOW did you dig that thread up??? Happy Holiday's My Rocket Brothers! I'M COMING HOME!!!! See ya on Sunday!
Wow these are all amazing stories... The only person I've met on here was Jeff briefly when he had a table for saveourrockets.com at I believe a rockets draft party... now in Nashville for school so this board is great to keep me in touch with what is going on in Houston.. didn't realize there were quite so many nashville area people on this board...
the one i forgot, was calling and getting to ask Rudy T a question when he was on 610 radio one week..... still have it somewhere
The Batman thing - Got to meet a couple of you crazy people, thought Buck T was an older guy, he wasnt. JBII nice young man, GLynch, RIET (UT Helmet to the bar...LOL), Batman (cool cat), and of course Rocketman Tex....now I see the man everywhere I go (he works across the street from me), and all you other guys...it was great.
This place has been freaking therapy over the last 3 years (damn I cant believe its been that long!!). Ive gone through some tough times (including my recent layoff which hasnt been easy), and some good times (the Smeg game was awesome). Ive met some great friends through this board: RM95, Pimp, JBII, Freak, Major..... Im sure Im missing a few of you guys. I dont have a specific favorite story, but it would probably involve me and RM95 at Aussies drinking $2 Miller Lite pints and talking about girls.
