from way back, Dick Van Dyke and I love Lucy. from less way back, the Mary Tyler Moore show (one of the few 70's shows, along with the occasional all in the family episode, that i can stand, 70's television blew ass, thank god i was born in the 80's so i don't have to even be associated with it). and from even less way back, Cheers, which is tied with the simpsons as my favorite show ever.

as far as game shows, VesceySux is right, it was Press Your Luck's world, everyone else was just living in it. although Scrabble probably had a nice mansion in that world.

I thought for sure, that of all people, TheFreak would know that John Parr sang "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)"! He also sang "Naughty, Naughty" and that video had Lisa Rinna (she of the luscious lips) in it.

RIET: CLASSIC! I laughed for about five minutes after you posted that.

I totally remember that stupid overpriced dog's look on his face, as he was being spun around. And the saddest part was if you had more than $250, but less than $400, you HAD to buy that worthless piece of crap.

I ALWAYS thought it was funny when people realized they had put themselves into that situation, AND WOULD STILL pause about 10 seconds to find ANYTHING they could buy, while the camera would slowly start zooming in on the crappy dog.

    THAT MADE MY DAY!!:D Kudo's!

(I'm seriously crying about that while I'm posting this)

I knew it was John, not Jack, but it was too close to pass up making a reference to it.

I figured you did, but any time that I can get in a Lisa Rinna reference, I am going to do so!:D
