Ralph Sampson vs Celtics, Game 5 of 1986 NBA Finals..

"With a 3-1 lead, the Celtics seemed poised to put the Rockets away in Game 5. And when Sampson lost his poise early in the second quarter, summer vacation seemed inevitable. With 9:40 left in the period, Sampson crossed midcourt, went by Sichting at the free throw line and threw an elbow at Sichting's head.

Sampson did not connect, but that was just the beginning. The 6-1 Sichting stayed with Sampson, hung onto his arm and held his ground on the right side of the lane. Suddenly, Sampson turned and nailed Sichting with a right hand. Sichting stumbled, then went at Sampson, who hit him with another right.

Johnson entered the fray and Sampson got him with a left, but Johnson answered with a right. Walton tackled Sampson from behind and both benches emptied. Sampson continued squirming and Walton kept hanging on as the two teams rumbled frightfully close to the fans on the sideline.

Finally, order was restored and Sampson, who had made five of his first seven shots and had scored 12 points, was ejected. Instead of faltering, however, the Rockets blasted off. And, surprisingly, the Celtics lost their poise."

I was at that game, right after that Willis & Ewing went after each other & got ejected. Now that was an exciting game!

Yeah, that was the game. Laimbeer clotheslined Bird and sent him to the floor. Before Bird got up, the Celtics were already all over Laimbeer. Bird did get suspended though. After the ensuing fight was broken up, Bird had the ball and lasered it right at Laimbeer's face. As I recall, that is what got Bird the suspension.

I can't find mention of it much anywhere...rather, just the fight in general.

Did Parrish get suspended for his shots in Boston?

I remember it vividly because Laimbeer was standing there not paying attention and Parrish slapped him 2 or 3 times with a closed fist. Laimbeer went down for the count clutching his face with Parrish standing over him.

    I loved the Chief.

Bird got suspended. Laimbeer did not. I believe the suspension was due to the throwing the ball at his face.

In the next game, I remember Laimbeer and Parish were off the TV screen as a fastbreak was taking place ahead of them. I believe the refs lost sight of them, too. Then Parish sucker-punched Laimbeer in the face. The refs let it go, partly because they didn't see it.

Does Minute Bol vs. William "The Refridgerator" Perry on Celebrity Boxing count? It would have been better if the Fridge had not been so overweight that he could not move.

The Childs/Kobe fight that RocketForever has so kindly shown. Went to show that Kobe, though a baller, will never have street cred. Way to sock it to him, Chris!

Anyone remember Lakers vs Knicks, Shaq forcefully backs Chris Dudley down and Jams on his goofy mug. Then as Shaq is crossing mid court Dudley chunks the ball at Shaq hitting him on his arse. :D

Oh yeah, that was hilarious! IIRC when Shaq dunked, it was in a way that Dudley's face was buried in his crotch. That was great. Good times. :)

Also, everyone always mentions JVG hanging onto Zo's leg, but does anyone remember the funnier (IMO) incident where he got knocked out by Marcus Camby? I remember the Knicks were playing the Spurs, and Camby was extremely pissed at Danny Ferry (like anyone else who's played against him). Anyway Ferry turned his back because a ref (I think it was a ref, might've been a player) was holding Camby. All of Camby gets loose enough to run at Ferry and throw a wild haymaker at his head. By a stroke of luck, Furry just barely ducked in time, and guess who had run over to stop the fight and took the brunt of the punch? Our beloved JVG, who subsequently was laying on the floor in a stupor. Camby didn't even look down at him to see if he was okay. He was too busy cursing at Ferry. Now that was a hilarious 'fight'. The replays had me in stitches.

Not the overall funniest fight though. That goes to PJ Brown flipping Charlie Ward. :D

I read on another board that Francis fought Dirk Nowitzki before. Is that true?

I also remember a game during Dirk Nowitzki's rookie season when the Mavs were playing the Rockets. Barkley gets called for a foul and immediatly throws both arms up and back in protest giving Dirk one HELLUVA nice back hand to the mouth. Dirk starts crying to the ref but the ref didnt seem to see it. Just looking at Barkley's face you could tell it was a cheap shot, Hillarious!!!

    Bulls vs Knicks in 1993.

    Eastern Conference SemiFinals

This was the game that Scottie decided to sit on the bench during the end of the game.

I don't remember it well, but I remember Horance Grant getting fouled on a layup, and then he turns around and a bull was hooking up with a knick, in midcourt I think. I remember the expression on Grant's face as he turned around and saw what was happening. It was funny. He and some other guys ran to midcourt.

I remember David Stern was sitting courtside or near courtside during the game too which made it even more better.

ESPN did a video reel of NBA fights a couple of years ago. It was pretty good, but they should do it again and update it.

Oh yeah, AstroRocket. I remember that Camby vs. Ferry fight! I still have that highlight on tape. That was probably the funniest one I've ever seen, just cause Van Gundy's always reminded me of a cartoon character, so it was just hilarious to see a cartoon-like thing happen to him i guess!:D

I remember a lot of these, but this one was the most memorable because I was at it. I've loved Charles Barkley ever since he came to the Rockets, he was such a good guy, and still is. I bet shaq was amazed that someone actually picked him up like that.

McDyess vs. Hakeem was a super funny fight... I remember seeing Hakeem fight back like a little girl.... HAH...

When Barkley slammed Shaq on the ground, I started laughing big time about that.. it was pretty amazing..

Heat vs. Knicks that just had to be hilarious and JVG was so kind to grab Zo's leg...

Chris Childs punching Kobe on the neck i believe...
