Then you clearly haven't been in the interior of an upper-end Lexus - a LS 430 for example - definition of luxury.
I have a Lexus and it is the best car I've ever driven...so smooth, so luxurious...now, if I could get something else, I'd probably get a Porsche...
I know that's true for a lot of people. For me, though, driving is one of my favorite activities, and while I could never see myself going completely overboard in buying a car, my definition of "overboard" is probably a lot higher than yours. Having a car I enjoy driving and spending time in helps to make me happy. But I don't begrudge people who consider their cars not much more than simple transportation and who wouldn't spend as much as I would on a car. By the same token, there's a whole bunch of stuff I wouldn't spend money on that other people insist on (heck, as far as housing goes, it takes far less to make me happy with my home than a lot of other people). Heck, I have a friend who spend a damn fortune on his refrigerator. He loves that thing, and I don't understand at all how he could spend that much money on a fridge when one could get one that keeps the food just as cool for a WHOLE LOT less.
