Oh, I miss my MGM days. When Die Another Day was released, MGM threw a Xmas party with a theme similar in the movie. We had ice, glass scultpures everywhere and martinis served with vodka.

    My rankings:
    1) Casino Royale
    2) The Spy Who Loved Me (how can you not love that Lotus Espirit turn submarine machine)
    3) Moonraker (dart watch, nuff said)
    4) You Only Live Twice (bond turning japanese what a hoot)
    5) Die Another Day (halle berry, drool)
    6) Casino Royale
    7) Octopussy
    8) License to Kill

We're different generations, but same opinion on this one, Max. Here's my list. Might possibly be a bit different next week, but this is how I'm feeling Mr. Bond today.

    From Russia With Love
    Dr. No
    Goldfinger
    Thunderball
    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    Casino Royale (Daniel Craig version)
    Skyfall

Here's the problem I have with On Her Majesty's Secret Service:

James Bond goes under cover posing as a genetecist to sneak into Blofeld's lair. Blofeld is posing as an epidemiologist who specializes in allergy research. And when they meet, they pretend like they don't know each other's identities.

    ...but that's the stupid part.

Bond and Blofeld met face-to-face in the previous movie. And since this was the sixth Bond film, surely they both knew what each other looked like. Blofeld knows what Bond looks like. Bond knows what Blofeld looks like. The whole thing where they're both pretending is just stupid and completely kills the movie for me.

Who here is a fan of the American version of Bond? Jimmy Bond, CIA agent.

    Movies:
    The Spy Who Loved Me
    Thunderball
    Moonraker <
Octopussy < (yes, cheesy Moore choices)
Goldeneye (yes cuz of the video game. Though little replay value now)

Misc: Never Say Never Again (I know the director had a point to prove, but WHY Connery did you DO THIS?)

    Themes:
    Live and Let Die
    Octopussy
Licensed to Kill (Gladys shoulda got some award noms, she went hard on this)
    From Russia With Love
Moonraker (Shirley Bassey = Shirley BEASTY)

    Bond Girls:
    *NUMEROUS. What a franchise novelty*

Similar opinion with me on old school Bond. Pierce Brosnan was too much a "generic" fit.

Though if Brosnan woulda accepted Bond when he was FIRST offered it besides Dalton who took the role, he'da been a solid 3rd next to Connery and Moore with Craig catching up. The 2 Daltons movies are kinda underrated really, and Brosnan woulda had more Bond "legacy", but he waited too late.

I do have a 007 Bond theme on my new phone :)

Interesting Taft so many people liked it, I thought that Skyfall was beyond boring.

I was pissed watching Skyfall when Q said "no exploding pens" followed by the realization he wasn't kidding and no tech gadgets scene which Bond movies always have. D'oh! It was a solid film but not one of my faves. I didn't care for the ending. I always felt Roger Moore brought more to the role than the rest so I prefer his films. But, it's also a timing thing where I grew up watching all the films come out with Moore at the helm way back when.
