Amen brother!! I don't know what the seasoning on there is but I can scarf those fries down by the handfull. Too bad it's not part of my diet though . I also like KFC's wedges. Mcdonald fries and JIB's curly fries.
There was an imbiss outside the back gate of Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg, Germany that was owned by a couple of Turks. The actual name of the place was long, German and unpronouncable so, everybody just referred to it as "Khadafi Brothers". The "pommes frites" were more like british chips than french fries, but they were hands down, bar none, there is no arguement, the best I've ever had. Their secret? They were double fried (the way the Belgians do it) in...horse fat. Since I'm not jetting to Europe for fries, when I want good ones, there's a local chain (but, it's growing fast) in the DC, VA, MD area called "Five Guys Burgers and Fries" that has great fries when they're not so swamped that they rush 'em. Go at off peak times and they'll get 'em right. Every location has a sign that announces where the potatoes they're using that day are from.
1st Definitely Whatburger with it's Fancy Ketchup .......... I usually put pepper in my little ketchup container and dip!!!! Yum! 2nd Fuddruckers with the cheese. 3rd JITB curly fries.
Gotta go with KFC's wedges and Fuddruckers. Honorable mention to Chic-fill-a's waffle fries. BTW, Whataburger doesn't use the same ketchup as everybody else, do you see the name HEINZ on their stuff? I don't know what the difference is, my guess is more vinegar. Oh, I've also wanted to try Belgian fries or Pommes Frites. I saw a place in New York when I was watching Food Network one time that sells them and the list of sauces in impressive. They also let you sample the any and all sauces with a frite until you find the one you want. http://www.pommesfrites.ws/ Oh, and for different ways of eating your fries, my brother dips them in honey.
so many choices: Wing Stop is a good one on the other side, very thin crispy fries at Texas Land & Cattle
I've noticed this to, and it means we both eat too much fast food. I think you're right about the vinegar, and the color is darker.
Hell yes!!!! I love Ranch 1 fries!!! I also love their chicken with pasta! There are Ranch 1s in Manhattan and NJ only. I wish they'd open one in Brooklyn. Nathan's fries would be second on my list.
I can't belive this is Burger King's only mention! I thought ever since Burger King started using new fries a few years ago that they were hands down the best tasting fast food fry out there!
Burger King and McDonald's don't change grease often enough any more. The result is a batch of soggy greasy fries that are nasty. If they'd change out their grease more often, they'd be contenders.
