1991 to 1996 including Double Clutch and the 07-08, 08-09 Teams were amazing. All downhill from 2009 until we started rebuilding. Yeah, I'll never give Harden any respect. Sue me.
Need to take out the 2X choice. After that, it'd be the first era because I started paying attention to the Rockets when they moved and I was but a wee one. Could really only see them on the evening news, but once I got to my first game, I was hooked.
[During my Rockets fandom/following; so about the time T-Mac arrived?] McGrady, Artest, Yao — loved the ‘09 team MVP Harden, CP3, PJ, Gordon Smolbol Dantoni Hamstrings Rookie Rockets, 7 1sts Young Harden, Lin, Parsons, Dwight
Also, the Moses era needs a stand-alone option. Rudy T, Newlin, and Murph were my heroes, but they were on not good teams. Things changed when Moses arrived and after Moses left, things really sucked for a bit.
We are witnessing the here and now. Looking forward is the only way to get where you want to be. I truly believe we are on the cusp of a multi championship run. In time, we will look back and say these where to “good old days”. I am hoping for a marketing repackage with new logo. (Hopefully retro inspired) It’s good to be a Rocket fan. Go Rockets The twin towers were good times. The championship were great, too.
I moved to Houston in 2005. So the Yao era is very nostalgic for me. I went to the game (Yao vs Clippers IIRC) where he had one of those bad injuries. Remember it was pouring that night and navigating away from TC listening to 610 talk about the doom. I think that was his first major injury. Later was at that Lakers playoff game where he got hurt or maybe just didnt play. Not the game where he came back but later in that series I think. Also at Spurs game his last season and I think that may have been one of if not his last game. So yea, I always felt I was the jinx but that was a fun time and teams.
I'm likely the only one, but the 2010+ era with Martin and Scola was fun basketball to me. Yeah they weren't going anywhere, but they gave everything they had and could win any game on any given night. Not my favorite era, but maybe the most entertaining. Maybe being an underdog made the wins feel so good. Sometimes it isn't all about winning a title, it's about the excitement of the individual games.
I find the same excitement watching a rebuild with elite talent as I do a championship level team. Though actually winning one is another level. What you don’t want as a fan is mediocrity.
The Josh Smith/Dight Howard era. Those alley oops were unforgettable. Fun fact. Josh and Dwight played AAU ball together.
Favorite teams in order: The champs: 1994 1995 ------ The champs**: 2009 2018 ------ The underdogs that went nowhere: 2016 (the Brewer & Smith Clippers series) 2005 (the motley crew of journeyman veterans and Tmac's first year) I imagine several 80s teams would be high on that list if I was old enough to know more.
Same. Our asterisk championship teams were awesome to watch, would have beaten both actual champions of weren't for injuries.
Hakeem era and nothing comes close to it. Team full of clutch players that actually showed up in big games.
I pick the same era. But I would go with the 07-08 team. I will never forget that 22 game win streak.
I wore the same hat every single day during that win streak. Off days, game days, if I was awake, I was wearing the same Rockets hat. January 29th through March 18th, same hat. It needed a bath on the 19th.
