Geez. I thought it would be Krispey Kreme easily. I've never heard of Shipley's. Is that a local Houston thing? I'll take your guys' words for it that it's better. Until I've had one it's easily Krispy Kreme glazed for now.
LOL. Well, I don't like THAT many sprinkles on there. I just couldn't find a picture with less. The chocolate ones with the tiny sprinkles on 'em, good stuff.
I can see lots of people are brainwashed by brand names. Screw Krispy Krap and Sh!tleys, both are wack! The best donuts and kolaches come from the mom-and-pop shops. Where they are hand made, like how a bakery should be done, unlike those machine made donuts at corporate owned shops. At least at them mom-and-pop shops, the bakers actually bake and are not just there to flip on a switch. Homemade owns machine/factory made donuts. DOWN WITH ALL THE KRISPY KRAPS AND SH!TLEYS TRYING TO SHUT DOWN HARD WORKING MOM AND POP STORES!!!
Give me Shipley's or give me Tim Horton's, but nothing is better than a white with sprinkles on top. MMMMM. Like I said, Shipleys(or Daylight...same difference) or Tim Horton's (a Northern donut shop/restaurant) are awesome. Yankee Doodle Donuts (I'm not sure how many stores they have...2 in the Magnolia area, I think) are awesome, and I believe they use Daylight Donuts.
I love Shipley's...but.... Dunkin' Donuts. They used to have one in the Student Union Building at Baylor...I'd go early and get some coffee and a chocolate iced donut to study for exams. There is like one Dunkin' Donuts left in Houston..and it's way too far for me to drive for a donut. There's a new Shipley's right down the street from my house. That's good, clean livin'.
Ugh, bake a donut? Freaking cake eater. Anyways, go here: http://www.shipleydonuts.ws/ and click on the making donuts section to see those "machines" at work.
i like the yellow cream stuffed donuts. is that the bavarian cream? i haven't bought donuts in years.
Do kolaches count? If I'm in a donut store that has kolaches, which all of them do down here, I will always buy a kolache over a donut.
