Yeah, I think we need to define cult a little better because most of these movies I wouldn't consider cult movies.

    How about Death Race 2000?

I thought it was "Chasing Amy"?

The plot fits. Two guys, comic book creators. Bi-sexual girl who serves as the love interest and has had way more partners than the main character. Big discussion on oral sex (hilarious scene).

Maybe K. Smith just makes too many movies alike? :)

OMG this is easy...most of the movies I love are considered cult movies.

    MP--Life of Brian
    MP--Holy Grail
    Spinal Tap
    Office Space
    Strange Brew
Hudson Hawk (Scary..Bruce Willis and Dany Aiello(sp?) singing thruout the movie)
Rocky Horror (I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned)
    UHF
    Dazed and Confused
    Half Baked
    Young Frankenstein (cult?)
Blade Runner (just bought the Director's cut..great!)

There's a few more...but I'm unsure whether or not they are considered cult or not...

2K, I couldn't believe it took that long to mention Rocky Horror either.

How about a couple of strange ones: A Boy and His Dog and Miracle Mile?

    Personally, I like Bueller.

I love Bueller, but no way is it a cult movie.

Probably just a non-mainstream or non-box office hit that maintains a dedicated following.

I can't believe I forgot Dawn of the Dead, and also Night of the Living Dead..two classics.

I define cult as , movies that didn't do well at the box office but maintain a somewhat fanatical fan base even years after they were released..
    How's that for a definition?

    edit...oops sorry Cohen..I didn't see your post b4 I posted my definition.

It's definitely Clerks. The scene in Chasing Amy is when they're talking about injuries they've received from oral sex...not how many partners.

Your definition sounds right. Would anything by John Waters fall in that category?

I think whoever told Samuri Jack about the movie combined the description of both Chasing Amy and Clerks. They are by the same director and both are definitely worth watching.

Oh hell yea...Waters is the king of cult

Blazing Saddles...hmm..I don't really consider that cult...if I did, it would be near the top of my list..I LOVE Mel Brooks movies!:D

I thought BS did pretty well..it's consdiered by many as one of Mel's finest movies.

    Which brings me to...

    Robin Hood: Men in Tights
    MP--Meaning of Life
History of the World Pt 1
Real Genius (I can't believe I forgot this one either...thanks drapg)

office space... funny thing is i HATED the movie after seeing it in the movie theaters on opening day! i was a senior in college and felt my life was going to be as depressing and horrible as Peter's! I was actually pretty depressed for a week after the movie... than i saw it in theaters for a second time with other friends and laughed my ass off! ahhh, than the love affair began!

of course, after graduation, i DID end up in a cubicle tech job! actually, there was people at my job that matched EVERY CHARACTER from the movie!!!! it was freakin' hilarious!
