I think that was their show at the Lawndale Art Annex where the entire band was way to drunk to do anything and Paul started apologizing and throwing money into the crowd and a near-riot broke out. Memorable, indeed.

    Other memorable concerts/shows:

U2 @ The Summit on the "Unforgetable Fire" Tour
    Pink Floyd at the 'Dome
Black Flag @ The International Club
    7 Seconds/Circle Jerks @ Power Tools
Too many Rush shows to mention

    Worst show ever?

Hands down, Aerosmith at the Summit on their "Back in the Saddle" Tour after rehab. Nothing else even comes close.

saw that show here in Houston with andymoon....It ranks right up there with the best I have ever seen...

    the others would be:

    VH Fair Warning Tour
    Iron Maiden Powerslave Tour
Skid Row and Pantera at the Astroarena
    Ozzy and Alice in Chains
Black Sabbath and(I **** you not) Night Ranger in Beaumont on Sabbath's Born Again Tour with Ian Gillian
and seeing Dream Theater at the Tower theater on their Images and Words Tour.

so many shows...so few brain cells left.....its been a good life...:D

I have seen and worked a ton of other reallyh good shows...but those are the ones that I remember always..

naw..it was earlier than that....Im thinkin 92...cause I worked that show and I quit working crews before 94....

Faith and Metallica were pretty good....but having to wait until Axl could get his butt on stage sucked...

what a primadonna...trust me..its true what they say about his backstage behavior....never saw anyone cry so much about stupid crap...:(

Queen at the Summit for "The Game" tour
Van Halen at the Summit for "Divers Down" tour
Sammy Hagar at the Summit for iirc "Three Lock Box" tour (Night Ranger opened)

I also saw U2 at the Summit for "Unforgetable Fire" tour. The band was great but ... The high school kids danced to Bloody Sunday, which was completely inapproriate and made me feel really effing old at 26 :( Made me wish there was no smoke ban and that the kids were stoned enough to get the lyrics to the song.

I didn't think '94 sounded right either. I was thinking '92-'93 as well.

I was at that show. Me and a friend camped out at the Hastings near Willowbrook Mall the night before. We were first in line but the ticket machine went offline for about 15 minutes when they first started selling tickets and we ended up with seats in the upper prom.

Best "camp-out" story...me and a buddy snuck into the Astro dome parking lot for tickets to the Police concert in 1983. We waited all evening on a grassy hill by the dome as others began lining up outside a fence that had been constructed to keep the crowds in line. We were guaranteed spots in front of the line.

    But...

We fell asleep. When we woke up, there were hundreds of people in line next to us, and they were all laughing their asses off at us. We got crappy seats as a result.

Do people even camp out for tix anymore? The only time it happens around here is in the spring for the HFStival. Oh, how many nights did I spend on the sidewalk outside Cactus Records on 1960? Or the Super Stop and Go on 45? Good times.

And damn you, Behad! We had to go through a "broker" for Police ducats. Ended up paying the, then, ungodly sum of $40 to sit BEHIND the stage.

-Van Halen's 1984 Tour. I was in the in the 5th grade, sitting in the 13th row, and I saw boobies (and they didn't belong to Michael Anthony).
-The Cure... forgot where, but it was the whole "Staring at the Sea" tour.... and again in 1989 or 1990
    -PIL at the Cullen Auditorium
-The Smiths at the Cullen Auditorium
-REM at Southern Star (Astroworld)... and many more times since then

Starting in about the 9th grade, I think I was going to 2 or 3 concerts a week... why does no one come to Houston anymore? They all kinda blend together after that... Between the Vatican, the Unicorn, the Axiom and the occasional road trip, I was out quite a bit. It went something like:

-Jane's Addiction and Nine Inch Nails at Numbers (and both of them again several times)
-Fugazi (too many times to count)
-Lollapalooza in Dallas (the first one)
-Billy Idol and the Cult at the Summit
-Metallica and the Cult at the Summit... got pinned under a row of chairs and lost my shoe... Met Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy backstage...
    -24-7 Spyz
    -Bad Brains
    -Nirvana
-Red Hot Chili Peppers (4 or 5 times)
    -Beastie Boys at the Unicorn
    -Fishbone/Primus at the Unicorn
-Public Enemy and Anthrax at the Unicorn
    -Pearl Jam
    -Rush
    -Smashing Pumpkins
    -Soundgarden
    -Tower of Power
-lots of memorable shows at SXSW over the years... Drive like Jehu kicked serious butt
-all those local funk shows (Billy Goat, Bouffant Jellyfish, Sprawl, etc.)

-Mingus Big Band (in New London)
    -Masada (in NYC)
    -Sonny Rollins (in NYC)
    -Tito Puente (in New Haven)
    -Jimmy Smith (in Oakland)
    -Rev. Horton Heat (in Providence)
    -Jesus Lizard (in Providence)

I'm forgetting lots, but I'll bet I was at a lot of concerts with my fellow BBSers.

Damn you guys that have actually seen my all-time favorite band The Police live. DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!!

I didn't really get into them until I was 14....the same year they broke up. I've seen Sting 5 times including the Dream of the Blue Turtles tour but it's just not the same.

Still holding out slim hope for a reunion tour in which case I will sell all my worldly possessions and go 'Deadhead' on them and follow them around the world,

Colt45, I don't really see any reason for kids to camp out for tickets these days with the internet. Too bad. Everyone should do that at least once when they're young.

Did anyone ever see a band called Life, Sex, Death? I saw them in Austin, and they had a gimmick that the lead singer was homeless... which I can partially confirm because he would get off the stage and wander around the audience like Quasimoto during the show and he stunk worse than anyone I have ever smelled.

The only reason I went to the show was because I read the lead singer would do bizarre things on stage. Anyway, it turned out to be a decent show, and nothing to crazy occured... except some girl in the audience was "servicing" the lead singer during the concert.

    Pearl Jam
02/19/92 - Albani Bar of Music: Winterthur, Switzerland (acoustic)
notes: Finding themselves in a venue with an extremely tiny stage, PJ elects to rent acoustic guitars and Dave sets up a kick drum and bongo, going for an acoustic show. The latter part of the set becomes a jam session. Even in this small space, Ed climbs to the second floor, goes over all of the spectators' heads and falls into the crowd on the main floor.

THAT was amazing. about 70-100 people and the place was packed.

    other ones in mind:

    - Mazzy Star
    - Kyuss
    - Soundgarden
    - Monster Magnet
    - Gorilla Biscuits
    - Youth of Today
    - Bad Brains
    - Danzig / White Zombie
    - D.I.
    - Sepultura
    - Slayer / Testament / Nuclear Assault
    - Motorhead
    - Fugazi
    - Helmet
    - T.S.O.L.
    - Descendents
    - Social Distortion

    good memories...........

    House Of Blues on Sunset.

The Cult sold out 7 shows in record time, the most ever. I saw the second show, and it was awesome.
