For the past, I will have to go with Married with Children. For the present their is no question - The Family Guy.
I'm picking it up at lunch today. One of my top three favorite sitcoms of all time. Never got the recognition it deserved.
I'm pretty sure that Committed has been cancelled. Too bad. Except for Marni's annoying voice, I liked the show too. I liked the easygoing manner, and every once in a while they would break out a sinister piece of dark comedy.
"I stole the TV.." I have them all on DVD.. great show, that's how some of the people from the Daily Show got their start.. My fav one is "MY DADDY'S CRAZY" when her step dad goes nuts by rubbing butter on his face and is roofing his house with cheese to "throw them off his sent" I also like SouthPark any SNL after '87 or so Aqua Teen Family Guy Insomniac Arrested Development SHows that arent around Kids in the hall Upright Citizens Brigade The Simpsons--it died a long time ago--
i loved Strangers With Candy! i also really liked Strip Mall. it took me a couple of episodes to "get it," but once i did, i couldn't stop watching. also, Mr. Show would rank among my all-time faves. currently, i only watch basketball and Aqua Teen Hunger Force (with the occasional Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021, and Venture Brothers.)
Well, if we're going to dip into old shows... Night Court Friends Get A Life Herman's Head Home Improvement Spin City The Golden Girls (don't knock it until you've tried it) Perfect Strangers (on the hotness of those sterwardess chicks alone)
I thought this thread was about current comedy series. Hence all the mentions of Curb Your Enthusiasm(which is a great show, BTW), yet none for Seinfeld.
Best all time comedy? No question. It was Cheers. I can still watch those episodes over and over again.
OK. I got ya. Curb Your Enthusiasm is good. A series I am really liking right now is Entourage. I don't know if you guys have seen it but the Val Kilmer and Gary Busey guest spots were hilarious. To A-Train- While Seinfeld does receive a lot of acclaim, it is well deserved. No other sitcom can compare.
me too AT...me too. I find myself wanting to like it....but I dont. For some reason I cant stand to listen to Jerry Seinfeld talk for more than a couple of minutes...I have to change the channel.
