He's definitely a hit or miss kind of comic, but his dark humor just kills me man. I would go on Youtube and watch the videos of his comedy special "Shakespeare". They're about 5 minutes each and there's like 12 of them. I love them all
Check out his special, Shakespeare My current list: (no particular order) - Louie - Patrice Oneal - Jim Jefferies - Bill Burr
Dane Cook... LOL JK he sucks duck George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Chris Rock....Can't beat the originals Louis CK is pretty overrated imo, but he is very good A less well known one is Joe Rogan, the guy simply inspires confidence and joy... and of course Doug Stanhope is an acquired taste
Been listening to Hannibal Buress lately. I find his humor somewhat in the vein of Mitch Hedberg the way he jumps around. He does tend to have longer narratives compared to Hedberg's one-liners though.
A lot of people have mentioned the classic greats. For some this generation, definitely check out Louis CK and Dave Chappelle's two specials. I loved the show, but Chappelle's stand up is golden. (Also, Louie by Louis CK is on netflix and is excellent). Stay away from dumber comics like Mencia, Gabriel Iglesias, Daniel Tosh etc. If you like Anthony Jeselnik (which I do too), you'll just find yourself rolling your eyes at these guys. Aziz Ansari can be hit or miss. I saw him live and he was hilarious, so you can find some good clips, though he has a lot of bad jokes too. Bill Maher has some good stand-up, as does Patton Oswald.
All time (not ranked) 1. Dave Attell 2. Bill Burr 3. Mitch Hedberg 4. Jim Jeffries 5. Patrice O'Neil 6. Louis C.K. 8. Lavell Crawford 9. Brian Posehn 10. Eddie Murphy(My favorite stand-up special of all time)
Can't believe nobody mentioned STEVE F'ing Martin, or Robin Williams Imo these guys literally live in humor
