is that how it is spelled? The owner of Kahn's deli used to always say that..."we don't do froo froo sandwiches" meaning we do messy sandwiches. I always figured there was a "u" in the spelling...for some reason. like "u" as in YUP's. fru fru ? seems more gay, right? man, I don't know why this seems interesting to me. back to coffee... Diedrichs sells the best coffee i've ever had...it's seasonal though. It's called "La Lucie" an estate coffee that harvest only once a year. Sorry, can't remember the months they sell it. But I will say that trying to brew it yourself doesn't do it justice. I've stopped brewing my own coffee. Coffee makers just start tasting like a combination of everything you've brewed, besides they don't brew hot enough. anyhoot...i'm not a fru fur coffee guy...but most all Europeans are by most american fru fur standards.
That's why I have a french press. Very easy to clean every evening. I also have a hot water dispenser set at 185 F for a brewing temp that's not too hard to scald the ground coffee. I wake up, grind enough for my morning mug, make it in the french press (4 min brew), and I'm good to go. Also, since I have a home roaster, I can roast different beans to different degrees to suit my taste. As you can tell I take my coffee seriously.
I buy mine from the Lola roasting company downtown. Their fresh roasted stuff is far superior to anything in a store. http://lolacc.com/
I make my own coffee in the morning. When the wifey makes it, its too damn strong. She should work at Starbucks.
