Don't worry Fatty, they probably thought they were too good to be reading Superfudge or Fudgemania back in the day. Those books rocked hard.

I've definitely heard of him. As a 4th grade teacher, I had to take a Children's Lit. class in college. Pretty enjoyable class- not the hardest A in the world! :)

Seriously, I love the grade I teach because they are at a level where I can read the younger books to them and the kids enjoy it, or I can take it up a level and they can still understand and get something out of it. Some of my favorite authors to read to my class are Louis Sachar, Roald Dahl, Jerry Spinelli, and so on....

    That's cool, man.

My second grade teacher is the one that introduced me to dePaula then in typical "small world" fashion we found out he's from the same town that we have our lake house in New Hampshire. I've met him before. Definitely a classy guy and i'll always enjoy his books no matter how old I get.

I wasn't actually a fan of those Ramona Quimby and Superfudge books, but I did like the one older teen book by Judy Blume.. Tiger Eyes... and Are you there God, It's Me Margaret.

And the weird parts of her stories was that she'd go there. Her book, "Then again, maybe I won't." taught me about wet dreams and masturbation.

Actually, thinking about it again, I'd have to say that book was inappropriate to me, at the time. Hell, to me, a wet dream meant peeing yourself.

That said, Judy Blume's books certainly influenced my life... Ha!
