I don't eat breakfast much, but when I do...There is nothing like a big, greasy bacon, eggs, sausage, orange juice, ect breakfast...
Agreed...My personal favorite is Eggs Benedict, however, I had some migas with eggs/chorizo and it freakin' rocked (Cuquitas here in Dallas)...throw some refried beans and fresh corn tortillas, and its OVER!!!
I only eat a real breakfast on the weekend when I have time. Usually some kind of eggs plus hashbrowns. During the week, my breakfast is a Multi-vitamin pill, a B-complex vitamin supplement, a potassium supplement, a zinc supplement, and a multi anti-oxidant supplement, chased with 3-4 cups of strong coffee.
Cafe Dumond was pretty good when I ate there back in 2002...more of a dessert item than a breakfast item, IMO. I'll still take a good ole' doughnut for breakfast over a beignet...
that's right! the only beignets that even touch Cafe du Monde are at Crescent City. They opened one up at Kirkwood and Westheimer, not far from my home. It's already gone. I haven't been down there in a while, but I'm assuming the one across from Lamar High School is still going strong.
Man, I can't handle beignets at anytime...especially breakfast. We have that Crescent City Beignet's near us on Westheimer that I tried once, those things are deadly. You might as well just slap 10 pounds on my thighs and call a cardiologist if I tried to eat that again.
I had breakfast at Teotehuacan on West Bellfort during Hurricane Rita weekend. Huevos Rancheros, bacon, refried beans and potatoes for three bucks. Outstanding!
That's my Vegas breakfast. I'll have to check out Teotehuacan for breakfast. Had lunch there a couple weeks ago and had the best enchiladas suizas I've ever had. Good stuff.
I don't know...something about boiled bread topped with dried fish doesn't really appeal to most Southerners... Now, smother it in gravy or top it with some cheddar cheese, then we'll talk...
