This year's Magic are the Rockets of last year. Has to be Orlando. I get no joy from watching the Rockets this year. None whatsoever. I feel like I'm watching someone else's team. Orlando, though... I really enjoy them this year.
Houston. I used to like Sac because of their style of play, but they just aren't very good anymore. And I used to love C-Webb's 1000 watt smile and diplomatic demeanor. But I soon discovered that he's just a phony and a loser that can't lead his team to anything. I used to like KG, but I'm starting to sour on him because of the suckerpunch incident and the fact that he's terrible with the media now. I'm not trying to be a media nuthugger, but I remember when KG used to give charasmatic and lighthearted interviews. I miss that KG. Today's KG seems meaner and tougher. Of course today's KG is also a much better basketball player, and being tougher probably has a lot to do with it. (I wonder if Yao can become mean like that with years of playoff failures)
1. Rockets always #1 2. Orlando, for obvious reasons 3. I have followed Alonzo Mourning's entire career so I root for him
Mine for now is The Sacramento Kings. I fell in love with them during the Mitch Rochmond years. Their loyalty gave me ghost bumps - they continued to sell out and support their team in spite of their sorryness. That was in the mid 1990s. Heads up - Lebron and the Cavs will be hosting the Chicago Bulls next week Saturday (27th of November) on WGN @ 6:30pm CST. So if you have cable or dishnetwork you should be able to see that one while recorvering from rectless turkey consumtion.
I won't say i have a favorite team outside of the Rockets. I root for the Magic because of Steve/Cuttino/Cato but if those guys suddenly were removed from the team i wouldn't care what Orlando did. So basically i'm trying to say i root for individual players rather than other teams; unless of course they're playing the Lakers/Jazz/Sonics.
The Rockets are my #1 favorite team, but the Portland Trailblazers are my second favorite team. Favorite Trailblazers 1. Pippen 2. Drexler 3. Walton
