Good (unfortunate) memories: - Had tickets to Mike Scott's no hitter but we had to be in San Diego. At least we gave them to my mother-in-law and her mother. My wife's grandmother was ecstatic and died soon after. In retrospect, I was glad she got to go. - Had tickets to Dierker's no hitter, but decided to do something else that night. I think a friend and I went to a move . - Had a choice of tickets for Ken Forsch's no hitter or a Rockets' game. Since it was the 3rd baseball game of the season and the Rocket's were fighting for playoff positioning, we chose the Rockets tickets. - Had tickets to Nolan Ryan's no hitter but my brother-in-law got married the same day. Had I known it was his first of 4 marriages, I'd have gone to the game.
Well I have a new favorite moment now obviously. A few other ones are... -Nolan Ryan coming back to pitch an exhibtion when he was a ranger in the early 90's. That was the only time I ever saw him pitch -Going to an NLDS game in 97. I went to some playoff games later on but nothing beat that one. Even though they lost it gave me goosbumps to see the dome like that -I saw a few walk off HR's. But to me seeing Luiz Gonzalez get hit to win the game was something to see -But the one thing I will never forget was when they let all of the kids on the field . My friend and I were jumping against the fence pretending to be making a Steve Finley type catch. One of the ushers started yelling at us to back away. Than my Grandma went off hearing an 70 year old women say the "F" word a dozen times at a pimpled face teenager is really something to see
