Nice choice of Delon and agreed Le Samurai alone would put him up there.

    pacino and deniro

though there are some clunkers in the mix a movie is generally good if it has one of these guys:

    russell crowe
    ed norton
    matt damon
    brad pitt
    kevin spacey

crowe will probably move into pacino/deniro territory by the time he's done.

denzel washington is up there too but i can't remember being a big fan of anything after training day. they're all the same. inside man was good though.

Ryan Gosling is great in The Believer. Not sure I've seen him in anything else.

Daniel Day Lewis in The Crucible ruled. Not sure I've seen him in anything else, either.

Can't think of anyone who consistently blows me away.

You started off looking like Tori Spelling but with a healthy diet of smokes and beer you shifted to looking like James Garner. ;)

Lots of great names mentioned, so I'm going to add an often overlooked actor whom I think is one of the best...Steve Buscemi. Fargo, Reservoir Dogs, The Big Lebowski, Monsters, Inc., Sopranos....

Ah, the yearly 'best actor' thread. It's interesting to see the choices- it reflects age, IMO.

    Mine:

Gary Oldman (Also best villain ever in movies like True Romance and The Fifth Element)
    Edward Norton
    Leonardo DiCaprio

    Up and coming:
    Shia LaBeouf
