I'm not saying he is inciting violence. I am saying there are too many ****ing morons in this country that will hear "ambush" and "kill shot". And if even 1 tries to take matters into his own hands, it's dangerous rhetoric.

I mean, i hear what you are saying but it's almost like saying that you can't use the word shot at all in any context then. So no more, "You have to shoot your shot" or "Take a shot." I mean where do you draw the line of what's an acceptable use of idioms and metaphors?

I just think that there's a big difference between using inflammatory rhetoric vs just using military metaphors because maybe that's your background.

When you use that rhetoric when talking about a person who is constantly bad mouthed by high ranking people who ****ing morons listen to, it's a bad idea.

The vast majority of Americans would not have stormed the Capitol based on the rhetoric the former president chose to use, but it only took a relative handful to put the democracy of our country in jeopardy.

But Trump literally told them to go storm the capital - that wasn't a metaphor. You can't compare the two at all.

By your logic, people shouldn't say, "we're going to fight them until we win!" since that would encourage people to actually go out and fight. To me, the criticism here goes over the line to ridiculous. I doubt this guy is even aware Fauci has death threats against him - or cares.

Death threats toward Fauci and his family have widely been reported since around Aug of last year after he was frank with his answers, contradicting many of the craps Trump suggested last year. Watters is a political commentary for Fox who obviously is aware of all the political heat around Fauci. He doesn't care but he got to be living under a rock to not be aware of the death threat toward Fauci.

I don’t understand what this has to do with him. Guidance from infectious disease experts will evolve as transmission rates change, as new variants emerge, new information comes in, etc. I asked you what would count as “getting much right”. Given that guidance would necessarily have to change, since the situation is dynamic, I take it that you’d find fault with anything.

Maybe try a specific example of him being wrong.

I think one thing that one could point to is the botched testing availability, but not sure how much if any of that has to do with Fauci’s role.

Position was vacant in 2020, which was the period I was referencing when the CDC rollout of a COVID test was botched.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_R._Redfield

During February 2020, the CDC's early coronavirus test malfunctioned nationwide. Redfield reassured his fellow task force officials that the problem would be quickly solved, according to White House officials.[25] It took about three weeks to sort out the failed test kits, which may have been contaminated during their processing in a CDC lab. Widespread COVID-19 testing in the United States was effectively stalled until February 28, when the faulty test was revised, and the days afterward, when the Food and Drug Administration began loosening rules that had restricted other labs from developing tests.[26] Later investigations by the Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services found that the CDC had violated its own protocols in developing the faulty test.[25][27]

Redfield testified to Congress on March 2, 2020, about the outbreak of COVID-19 in the U.S. Given the lack of testing on patients and healthcare workers requesting testing, Florida Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz asked Redfield about who was responsible to ensure testing could be performed on individuals who needed to be tested. Redfield could not name a specific individual and looked to Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of infectious disease at the NIH, who said, "The system is not geared to what we need right now... that is a failing."[28][29]

and you omitted to mention that, each time, CNN reporters use the adjective for a house bill / a process / a nomination, but not against an individual

but "ambushed" was never used in conjunction w "kill shot"

that chicken **** Watter used shot kill / ambushed against Fauci

I think Fauci has a very tough job and it would be impossible for anyone to predict the last 2 years. I respect his effort.

Interesting folks defending watters' verbiage by raising "context"... so lets use another illustration... lets say alex jones says or writes "Lets take a shot at Gabby Giffords or steve scalise". Or "lets ambush Giffords or scalise?" Still acceptable?

Bottom line, Watters isn't using inflammatory rhetoric and isn't trying to inflame people to violence whatsoever. I don't see any issue on what he said, you're picking two words out of a long talk about how to politically troll him and record the video.

But hey, we can disagree on this one, that's the beautiful thing.
