Glad you've found some happiness in a lifestyle change.

That's great to hear, Fatty. I also went through some lifestyle changes recently. Went to the doctor for the first time in 12 years, started taking needed vitamins, cut WAAAYY down on my drinking, stopped hanging out in bars almost entirely and tried with limited success to stop smoking a couple of times (each time lasted about a month). I've never felt healthier or happier. Except for the broken ankle that's got me laid up for the next few months of course.

I wish you all the luck in the world in your newfound self-improvement course. Just remember, nobody ever wakes up in the morning thinking "I wish I'd had just one more drink."

    Lol. Uhhhh, no......

BTW, here is the workout regimen a coworker got me on. Any other suggestions are good, also.

I pasted some things below that you will need to start out. Flax Seed and Fish Oil are going to help with your metabolism and you need to take 3 a day. Multi-vitamin is self explanatory and the most necessary. You can get either a B-Complex or the B-12. The complex has Biotin in it and helps with womens hair so you may wanna go that route… My degree is in this and although im kinda skinny now, I used to be a solid 210 with 10 % body fat so I am not just pulling this crap outta my ace.

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10324593 Fish Oil

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10324973 (you may wanna go this route b/c it has fish/borage/flax all in one)

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10532878 B-Complex

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10311437 Multi-Vitamin (you can get this one or the weight control one that has a few other things for energy and to curb your appetite which you may not need since you only eat once a day… your choice)

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10308365 Morning Meal Replacement (this tastes so effin awesome! You will love it and it will help with your not liking breakfast stuff. Best shake ever!)

This is a great start and wont be too expensive at all $30-$40 bucks? That is sooooo awesome that you went at 5:30 this morning!!! I cant do that crap, not even close. Obviously you are committed and that’s really the first step. The key is to not get frustrated after a couple of weeks and you aren’t seeing the results you are looking for. Most people quit after 3 or 4 weeks because they set too lofty goals and aren’t even close to them. It takes about 6 weeks to start seeing real results (although you will see results in energy level, mood elevation, and metabolism). Gimme a call when you aren’t busy and lets set a goal today. (VERY IMPORTANT)

    Drink Water!!!

That was a misunderstanding. I typically eat twice a day. But I've never been a big breakfast person. And I'm not working out in the morning. That was this girl in the office that did that.

You should eat breakfast...if you don't like eating anything in the morning, you can just make yourself a protein shake. I use BSN Lean Dessert with milk and strawberries. It is really good.

Fatty, thats some pretty basic advice that your coworker gave you. Nothing really special there. And linking to nutritional products from Wal-Mart? What? Come on. And that morning breakfast crap from wal-mart? That's garbage. And I especially love the, "I was 210 and 10% bodyfat at one time......." "but now I just give advice that I don't follow anymore, so JUST TRUST ME". This is a big red flag. And also, flax oil and fish oil have no affect on your metabolism. They are helthy fats, your body needs healthy fats for proper brain function and healthy fats also help slow down the digestion of your food and healthy fats teach your body to burn fat instead of muscle while on a low carb type diet. I could go on and on, but someone saying "here take this for your metabolism". Just shows how little they actually know about the topic. I would be money, lots of money that this person doesn't have a real "degree" in any type of nutrition like he states. He may have a certified personal training certificate, at most.

I could help you out here fatty, really, but I'll just point you in the right direction. I learned everything I know about nutrition and working out from this site: www.precisionnutrition.com

It is run by Dr John Berardi. He has a masters degree in nutrition, along with many other excercise certifications. You can read the forums and most of the stuff for free. If you want the recipes and the extras, then buy the package. Good value for what you get. Just spend a few hours reading the site and you'll know 100 times more than this expert coworker of yours and you'll get results.

    Thanks. Good advice.

The main reason I asked him is I've actually seen him the past 6 months, and his transformation has really been shocking. Of course, he could secretly be taking steroids for all I know.

I just google a lot for my info, and read trusted sites.

One thing to remember if you are working out and its been a while since you've eaten a meal... You need to hydrate properly. Just drinking water isn't enough, you need to replenish the sodium levels in your body as well.

If you are trying to lose weight, breakfast is very important. If your body doesn't get anything to eat from dinner until lunch, it goes into "starvation mode" and your metabolism slows down. Eat something light at breakfast, even just a Nutrigrain bar or something, and it will help prevent that from happening
