Good choice. And as was mentioned above, the DS, I beleive, is backwards compatible so it can play GB Advanced games as well. There are tons of good GBA games for his age group.

Yeah, it will play old GBA games, but not old gameboy games (which I find odd, since the GBA allowed you to ply old Gameboy games. You'd think they'd let you play those, also. Stupid Nintendo!)

Also, it has a video chip that will come out that allows you to play DVD's. Which also beats just buying the DVD player I was thinking about.

Damn, I didn't think you'd have trouble but then I realized the last time I was at Best Buy, it was still November.

On a related note, does anyone know if you have to have any special adapter to play the GBA SP movie cartridges? I would like to get one for my son but I wasn't sure if you had to get some tyype of adapter for the movie to play.

I did notice a movie adaptor for the GBA on ebay today. I also only noticed three videos for GBA.

So, not sure if the GBA movie adaptor works for DVD's, and those three GBA videos work on their own, or if the adaptor just works for those three movies.

They got them for $150 around here. I guess I should have bought them up and sold them for a hefty profit.

Man, when I was in Houston for Thanksgiving, they seemed to be all over the place. Now I can't find one, unless I do what Fatty did. I hate how Nintendo does this BS. Everytime a new system comes out, it comes out at this time of year, with a shortage. Certainly seems that way to me, anyway. I think they do it for the "buzz." And it's what my son wants for Christmas. (grrrrrrr... )

(congrats, Fatty. Your kid will think you're the man! )

I'm not sure how a 6 yr old would take that...

Seriously, I was the one who messed up. I'll get the first round anywhere, and we'll try again over at your place.:)
