Crock! They don't count delis but they do count Smoothie shops. WTF? (that according to Mayor White) Crock! For the same reason that people don't get why we have a tunnel system downtown. And, maybe it is just me, but I would much rather exercise when it is 95 than when it is 40. HUGE crock. What other area in the country is within a few hours of hills, desert, ocean, lakes, rivers, etc. This is an eastern bias because everything is so crammed together. But, proximity has little to do with participation. Nevermind that we happen to have the second largest urban park in the US behind Central Park in NYC. This is an issue since they are only surveying city-owned park land. Many of the area's parks are outside the city limits. I generally have an issue with this simply because we have a TON of private facilities which would indicate a desire on the part of the populace to spend their money on that recreation - particularly golf. And how, in God's name, can we get a C in this when we have one of the largest healthcare centers in the entire world??? What the hell are they measuring? --- Arrgh. I hate this crap.
