This is a thread where you can list your draft picks and get other people's opinions of how good the pick is, who you should take, who you are thinking of taking and any other things you may want to know about the picks you possess.

For my main league, we just had our draft lottery today and I received the number 2 pick. It is in a 12 team league. I think Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson are viable picks at number 1. At number 2 I am thinking of selecting a running back such as Maurice Jones-Drew or Ray Rice, you know a back that has the ability to get yards on the ground and through the air.

    What do you think?

Picking number 2 you will have to wait another 20 picks until it's your turn again. If Rice or Drew are available then, you're playing with some morans.

I am saying I want to pick Rice or Jones-Drew number 2 overall. I think Johnson is not going to have the same monster season this year and Peterson is prone to fumble, he isn't a pass catching back, and Favre may not be coming back. I don't want to pick either of those number 2 overall.

If you are not in a PPR league, then it isn't going to matter so much.

I'd still take Peterson 2nd assuming Johnson goes first.

Oops, my bad. I'd still go with Peterson if Johnson were to go first.

It all depends on the rules. In some leagues Ray Rice wouldn't be worth nearly as much. If its touchdown heavy then Rice is maybe a 3rd round pick. If its the PPR flavor then ya, Rice is a stud. I think Jones-Drew is still the safer pick.

What do you guys think will happen in Green Bay? Will Jennings bounce back, will Driver still be making an impact at a pretty decent level? Is Finley going to be more of a target? We all know Rodgers is going to kill it... but how?

I've seen some experts put Finley as their top TE of the year. I think he'll be Top 10 for sure, but Rodgers seems to have that Drew Brees ability to spread the rock around. They've got a lot of weapons there, Driver is still dependable, Jennings is a stud, James Jones and Jordy Nelson can burn you deep... Packers offense should be tops in the league this season.

I guess I'll treat this as the annual "rate my team" thread.

    1. (QB) Aaron Rodgers
    2. (RB) Ryan Mathews
    3. (WR) Greg Jennings
    4. (WR) Roddy White
    5. (WR) DeSean Jackson
    6. (WR) Mike Sims-Walker
    7. (DEF) New York Jets
    8. (RB) Knowshon Moreno
    9. (RB) Thomas Jones
    10. (WR) Eddie Royal
    11. (RB) Arian Foster
    12. (WR) Donnie Avery
    13. (QB) Brett Favre
    14. (K) Garrett Hartley

10 team league. 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 W/T. Scoring is 25 per passing yard, 10 per rushing, 10 per receiving, 25 per punt/kick return yard, all tds worth 6. No PPR.

I got screwed when the last decent RB got snagged right before my 5th pick came up... so I went for broke on WRs hoping to pull a trade later.

How the hell did you get D. Jackson in the 5th round. He's the next generation's Steve Smith. You probably lucked out getting Arian Foster though. He and Matthews along with Rodgers and those WRs should be more than enough.

There is an undrafted RB in your FA pool that will have a decent year. Make sure you get that guy - no I don't know who that RB is, just saying, he is probably an FA just waiting... great WR's but usually its easier to find undrafted breakout WRs than it is RBs.

Rushing Yards 10 yards per point
    Rushing Touchdowns 6
Reception Yards 10 yards per point
    Reception Touchdowns 6
    Return Touchdowns 6
    2-Point Conversions 2

Is Ray Rice still worth a top 5 pick in this point system?

    Also,

I need some help deciding who to keep/get at WR. I have Miles Austin, and I need one more:

    Ochocinco
    Percy Harvin
    Sims-Walker
    Meachem

    Here's the point system:
Reception Yards 10 yards per point
    Reception Touchdowns 6
    Return Touchdowns 6

Can someone recommend a decent WR who does KR and PR duty?

This year in my league we introduced return yards and TDs to the scoring system.

Someone already nabbed Josh Cribbs, Jacoby Jones, Percy Harvin, Dez Bryant, Reggie Bush, CJ Spiller and Darren Sproles.

I got Eddie Royal, who will supposedly be doing KR/PR duty for Denver... but Devin Hester is also available.

The only other one I can think of is Johnnie Lee Higgins... but he's not even starting in OAK, right moe?

I have him tied at #2 with MJD. Any reason you put him above MJD?

    Simply the team.

MJD can only carry the Jags so far.

While Rice will have tons of help.

How do you guys like to draft? I have the #2 spot in my main. I'm thinking my draft goes a little something like this:

    Round 1: RB
    Round 2: RB
    Round 3: WR
    Round 4: QB
    Round 5: WR
    Round 6: RB
    Round 7: WR
    Round 8: TE
    Round 9: DEF
    Round 10: QB
    Round 11: RB/WR
    Round 12: RB/WR
    Round 13: RB/WR/TE
    Round 14: K

Any defaults to my thinking here?

Depends on the point distribution and who is available.

Always draft according to what your opponent needs/will likely take.

You can get some amazingly good bargains that way in the middle rounds.
