Limits are important. Perhaps we give fanstar one more chance.

Not what I meant at all. What I was trying to say is instead of throwing in $10 we could make it $20-$25, and the extra $10-$15 would be the prize money we would be playing for.

That's how all my other leagues work. These BBS fantasy leagues are fun the way they are, I would hate to scare people off over money.

    Fanstar is our best option.

A fantasy note for everyone to keep an eye on:

    Concerning Barry Bonds this year:

He became the first player to ever separate himself from the Players Association licensing agreement, a move that allowed Bonds to cut his own marketing deals that don't have to be shared with other union members.

Lavar Arrington did this in Football two years ago, and he was not allowed to be used in any fantasy sports sites. Just an fyi

Aww... you're so sweet warning everyone. The truly ruthless player would keep that information to himself in the hope that someone reaches for Bonds and potentially wastes their pick.

Bonds will indeed be a risky choice this year. However, the payoff for taking that risk could mean the championship.

Wasn't Lavar Arrington in football this year? Did he sign a new agreement?

Yes and yes. I guess those Lavar Arrington t-shirts didn't sell as well as he expected.

Seems to me Fanstar is so small this won't even come into play. My guess is that Bonds would be in there.

Okay guys. I went ahead and paid for league renewal at FanStar. As mentioned before, everyone will be chipping in five bucks to help cover the cost this year.

You can pay me easily over PayPal. My PayPal account is:
    jgillard@nf.sympatico.ca

To make things easier, include your BBS name in the notes field of the PayPal form.

If you do not have a PayPal account, email me at that address and we'll figure something out.

We currently have three openings, so I'm going to start a new thread to get these spots filled.

Fanstar has acknowledged the renewal and things look good to go.

    Here is the league site:
    http://www.fantasybaseballone.com/baseball/clutchcity/

Everything has been reset and I rearranged the divisions according to win/loss record from last year to make things balanced. The scoring system is the same. I made two small changes:

    - I expanded the team rosters to 24 players max (it was 23 previously)
    - Instead of a "Utility" (UT) player this year, there will be a "Utility Infielder" (UI). The UI position wasn't available last year.

You guys can go ahead and change your team logos and enter your team/user information. The password for your team is your name. You'll also notice three blank teams, which are reserved for the three newcomers.

When everyone is signed up and ready to roll, I'll schedule the live draft lottery in the CF chatroom, so we'll know our draft order. I figure the second week of March is a good time to start the draft.

Also, thanks to the folks who have paid so far (BobFinn, Behad and Phi).

    Fade - paid

dare i suggest we should discuss the playoffs/divisions.... the way it was last year it was 1st in one division v 1st in the other, which is probably fine for the championship... but then the rest of the match-ups followed with 2nd v 2nd etc but if the division are uneven then you end up with someone with a pile more wins.... say in 5th in one division but he more wins than the 3rd, 4th and 5th team in the other and plays off against the other 5th team... why not after the first place teams, just go by record independent of division for the playoffs...does that make sense

Thanks to you and SSG. That's five so far.

Yeah, I agree. That's a better way to do it. Makes more sense.
