Looks like some mild trouble for the Sox:

Nomar Garciaparra will be held out of games for two weeks with Achilles' tendinitis. Garciaparra has been troubled by the Achilles' since he was hit by a ball during batting practice earlier this month. "There are no structural deficits, meaning there is no profound risk," said Red Sox team doctor Bill Morgan. Garciaparra said he still planned to play on Opening Day, but if he's not ready, Pokey Reese will shift to shortstop and Mark Bellhorn will fill in at second base.

The Red Sox announced today that Trot Nixon will miss the first month of the season with a mildly herniated disc in his back.
The news could have been better, but it also could have been worse. A mild herniation shouldn't turn into a long-term issue for Nixon. He won't rejoin Boston's lineup until early or mid-May, but at least the Red Sox can be fairly confident that he will be back then. Gabe Kapler and Kevin Millar are expected to share time in right field for now, opening up playing time for Ellis Burks at DH.

You just have to be difficult, don't you. He plays 1B/C, plus he's been taken. Please make sure the player you take is actually available before signing off.

Are there more Jason Phillipses than I'm aware of? He's still listed in the Warroom.

I probably just picked up Jason Phillips the seldom used relief pitcher or something.

Ironically, after a couple minutes research, there IS a seldom used relief pitcher named Jason Phillips. He plays for the Indians.

    Wierd.

Ah.. I was looking at the catcher list, but Philips was listed as a 1B. That's why I thought he was already picked. Doh.

Anyway.. John Olerud (1B) for me.

I know Wells is an injury risk, but he's good for a few quality starts a year. I was surprise he lasted this long.

fade, I sent you a list. Could you check to see if I have the right address? There's only three names, if they're all gone, then y'all will have to wait till the morning.

Edit: Smeg's back, so I'll wait to see who he takes. Anyone have a list from Phi?
