Nice pick this late. Despite the reported "lost velocity," I have a good feeling about him this year. Koch is the guy I would have targetted as my third reliever had I not taken Nen back in the 12th round.

One hour till our first "TIME ELAPSED" and SSG gets to skip him.

On the one hand, this will hurt Sam because SSG will get two picks in at once, but on the other hand, Sam gets another 12 (or was it 8?) hours before someone else jumps him.

    straight from the commishes mouth

    How does this sound...

If the 12 hour time limit is exceeded, your turn gets skipped and the draft continues as normal. You make your picks whenever you get back, like in the NFL. If 22 picks happen to go by in your absence during that time, tough luck.

If you exceed the 12 hour time limit once, then the next time your limit is reduced to 8 hours. If you wear out the clock a third time, you get 6 hours.

This will encourage people to send lists if they are going to be absent for extended periods.

Harsh, but fair. I'm sorry guys, had computer problems when I got home from work and couldn't pick. Will be picking momentarily.

Before posting my next pick I wanted to commemorate a glorious moment, my 200th post. And it only took almost four years.

Regarding the time limit, this is the 2nd time this draft (Finn missed it on the 17th). I don't care either way since we have a long way until the season starts, so practically speaking there's no rush...but we should set a standard so all owners are given notice and treated equally if they exceed the limit from from here out.

The standard is if you exceed the 12 hour limit, you get skipped and the draft goes ahead as usual until you get back to make your pick (like in the NFL draft). If you exceed 12 hours, your personal time limit gets reduced to 8 hours, then 6. If you are at one of the corner positions, both of your picks get skipped until you return since there is no reason why the next person in line should have to wait longer than 12 hours to make his pick.

Also, Finn has not exceeded the time limit so far. The most he's been on the clock has been approx. six hours by my count. SSG and Sam have each come much closer.

DV had an 11 hour time early in the draft.

chrisjent, you seem too sensitive about the subject. It's all just some good natured ribbing. If we were in danger of running into the start of the season, it would not be so good naturely.

Not that it matters, but just for accuracy sake.

On the 17th SC picked at 03-17-2004 12:58 AM
On the 17th Bob picked at 03-17-2004 01:38 PM

My intention isn't to come off as sensitive about it. I really don't care when somebody makes their pick as long as they don't repeatedly hold back things. I know Finn is usually around and usually makes his pick (and accepts list for others frequently as well), it just so happens this one time he didn't. Point being, everybody will have times where they're not around and a big thing shouldn't be made of it as long as its not habitual.
