Sounds like our first IR pick. Just curious, was anyone hoping he would last till after the draft, then get him for the IR? He was going to be a waiver wire IR pick for me.
NOTICE: I will be adding all of our rules for the league onto the rules page eventually. I hate to type, so I'm putting it off until the last minute. That being said, I have an important notice concerning the Injured Reserve list. 1) A player must be on IR in real life to be on IR in our league. That's not a software rule, however, but a rule made for our league. The commissioner will get a notice of all IR transactions. If you try to cheat, you will get caught and the commissioner will adjust your roster back to the way it was before you tried to cheat! This leads to the question "Why put someone on IR if he is not on IR in real life?" Because... 2) A player MUST be on your roster before he can be moved to IR. For example, PSJ took Trevor Hoffman, who is on IR. After the draft, PSJ can then place Hoffman on IR and pick up a player from the free agent list to bring his roster back to 23. BUT...let's say, just as an example, PSJ did not pick Hoffman. After the draft, he wants to add Hoffman to his IR. Hoffman must first go to PSJ's roster before he can be moved to IR. The only way to get a space on the roster for Hoffman is to a) waive a player, or b) move someone else to IR first, then get Hoffman, then move Hoffman to IR and re-activate the first player IR'd. This is where someone can cheat by placing a healthy player on IR to make room for Hoffman, then re-activating that healthy player. You will get caught and the player you tried to pick up for your IR will be waived from your team. Since he is waived, you can't get him for 48 hours. In addition, you will be publicly ridiculed for trying to cheat. Is that clear?
Trust me Pimp, I have seen all of Raffy's foot and ankle problems this spring, and I actually thought Guzman had been picked, but he hadn't and I got a very good backup. Overall, I really like my team. And Eric Karros is an old retread Finn, Wrigley can't even help him, and Hee Sop Choi will prevent him from doing anything of note. Unless Baker is really dumb, oh wait.........
Bringing the chart back to the current page... http://home.austin.rr.com/tattooedgroove/fbaseball/draft13-23.html
I'm going with a rookie with a career batting average of 1.000. He's 1 for 1 in his big league career. Xavier Nady, new left fielder for the Padres, taking over for Phil Nevin. He's so new, he's not even in the software yet. Edit, I found him. He's listed as a 3B. I guess he'll have to stay there for 15 games.
Nady is one of a slew of the Padres poor defensively, but awesome offensively corner players. The guy can mash.
