So, it really doesn't matter what the pitchers are called(SP or RP), does it? Or am I missing something?
No it doesn't. Just like last year, it's what they do in the game that counts against your game limits, not how they are listed.
Phelps came up through the system as a catcher. But below average defense, and Keith Cash(mid-season waiver wire pickup - you've been warned) moved him to DH/1B.
I'll warn you guys now. I have an emergency that I must attend to out of town and will be leaving in the next 15 minutes. Save the jokes because this is serious. I may not have access to a computer for several days, but will try my best to check in.
And since he only has 2 games total in a position last year (at 1B), Fanstar defaulted him into catcher.
Send me a list! There's only 3 rounds left. If your picks get picked, I'll pick similar players for you. It's not like these late round guys are gonna make much of a difference.
NOTE TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PAID ATTENTION, ESPECIALLY TO THE PREVIOUS THREAD: Remember, after the draft, when the clubs begin putting players on IR, we have two IR spots we can use. The only rule is that the player must be on IR in real life to go on IR in our league. For example, if chrisjent wants to hang on to Phil Nevin, he can put him on IR when the Padres do, then get a replacement player from the free agent list. And regarding the free agent list, I do not know if all those players must go thru waivers before you can pick them up after the draft. (But really, who wants to waive a player they just drafted to make room for someone from the slim pickings of the leftovers?) I'm assuming the leftovers will be available immediately. BUT... Waived players and rookies entering the league must pass the 48 hr. waiver period before joining a team.
Your point, he is clearly not a catcher nor did he meet the specified requirements laid out to be classified as one.
If A-rod's shoulder is bad I may need him to, but that still doesn't answer my question. I can't believe y'all are lobbying to have a potentiol 30-100 guy have eligibility at catcher?
He entered the league as a catcher. Until he plays 15 games at another position, he will continue to be classified as the position at which he entered the league. It makes sense.
