Another question for the commish and the league: How do y'all want to handle the three games being played earlier than the rest of the league? Seattle and Oakland are playing a two game set March 25 and 26 in Japan, and Texas and Anaheim play a game Sunday, March 30th. The rest of the league starts Monday, March 31. Our games run Mon-Thur and Fri-Sun. Do we ignore those three games? Is that fair to owners who picked players on those teams? Do we include those games, which gives the owners of the starting pitchers of Seattle and Oakland an unfair advantage by getting two starts in one week?
are we playing one game a week right??? if so then some teams will get two starters anyway depending on schedule i say they count as part of the first week
So in effect there are no multi-position players; only players who are likely to gain eligibility sometime during the year? Behad, please explore options of getting this ability for us. Bellhorn who I drafted last round was going to afford me some flexibility the rest of the draft because of his eligibilityat so many positions. The fact that there were no multi-position players to start the season was completely unclear to me and there are numerous references here in the draft thread and until now this has not been mentioned. Is there anyway you could manually configure a players eligibility at the time to set rosters? It will take 3/4 of the season for these guys, who more than likely were only drafted because of multi-position status, to regain their status? GEE THANKS
This issue was talked about in this thread. Tell you what, though. For players who should be multi-position eligible based on last year's results, you can contact me during the season and I'll manually change that person's position so you can start him at whichever spot you want (provided he played 15 games there last year).
I appreciate that Fadeaway, that was a huge monkey wrench in my drafting strategy. Thanks alot! Also we are having two games a week verse the same team so will we be able to set our lineups for each game or will we set it once a week?
I would think we'd be able to set the lineup for both games. It would be pretty pointless to have two games if you can only set your lineup for one of them. Behad probably knows for sure.
Did anybody read the emails I sent concerning one game a week vs. two games? I feel so unloved. Two games a week. Lineups are changeable. And we have a choice: do y'all want double headers each week, or a new opponent each game? (Let's see how many owners don't notice this question as well.) And SSG, I can make lineup changes for you if need be. For official positions of multi-positional players, I suggest we use the link fadeaway added to the home page, or has everyone ignored that as well? WARNING: I'M GOING TO MENTION THIS ONE MORE TIME. IT MAY TAKE A WEEK TO SMOOTH OUT THE BUGS IN THIS SYSTEM. PLEASE BE PATIENT ONCE THE SEASON STARTS, AND ALL WILL BE WORKED OUT. What about the three games prior to March 31st?
We definitely should include them. Every MLB player plays 162 games. Slicing off 2 of those games just because they're played a few days early would be unfair.
Don't go getting down on yourself, generally you guys who run these things do a fantastic job, chalk this up to poor reading comprehension skills or a bad memory on my part. Anyway, to answer your questions; I would prefer a new opponent each game. And I would count the three games to start the season.
Also, regarding rookies, DH players and players returning from injury who did not play in 2002: Even though these players may not have played in 15 games, they'll be classified at the position they would usually play if they were starting. Three examples I can think of off the top of my head are Edgar Martinez, Frank Thomas and Ellis Burks. These players played all of '02 at DH, but since there is no DH position in this league, they'll be classified as their best known regular position (ie: Martinez, Thomas = 1B, Burks = OF). Common sense stuff, but just wanted to clarify because Pimp was listing players as DH in the chart and we don't have a DH position.
Don't worry about finishing this draft too slowly. I'll be able to send my can of whoop ass to everyone express delivery .
HA! Express delivery with you're all-old-man's lineup? I have a feeling we'll be waiting a LONG time for that delivery.
ATTENTION: Fanstar changed our league page address. It will tell you the new address, but in case you miss it, it's http://www.fantasybaseballone.com/baseball/clutchcity/ Be sure to update your shortcuts.
Hey guys, help me on something. I need positions for the following players: Frank Thomas (1B?) Ellis Burks (OF?) Edgar Martinez (1B?) Raul Ibanez (?) Since we don't use DH's, these guys are not listed in the player database for our league. I need to assign them a position to get them on a team.
