I've vastly overused starting pitchers so far, so I've had to massively cut back. I'll go back to my normal rotation next week. jent's been steamrolling through people anyway, so I decided to conserve my strength. Sorry if you disapprove.
How are people setting illegal lineups? This will not affect our game since Daryl Ward is a firstbaseman anyway and Phi could use him as a UI, so no changes need to be made...but... How was Phi able to start 5 OF's? Aren't there limits that are supposed to block this from happening? Just wondering. Like I said it is no big deal in this matchup.
One thing I did different this time, was just edit one or two pitchers and hit submit. That could be part of the problem in my case. Normally I wipe the whole lineup and replace. But not this time.
I played around with it yesterday and found this. My original lineup did not show anyone in the UI position. It instead showed that I was starting 2 at 3B. One of which was obviously in the 3B slot and one that should have been in the UI slot but list of players playing they were showing up as a 3B. SO I scrolled down my roster and got to the UI area. I clicked on a name and viola it added an extra player, giving me 6 IF and 4 OF. It still showed 2 players at 3B and the new guy showed up at UI.
Sometimes players show up on the matchup screen under their default position, even though they are being started at a different spot. Smeg's lineup is a good example. His lineup shows that he is starting 1B, 1B, 2B, 3B, C, C, SS, SS, OF, OF. However, one of his first basemen and one of his catchers are actually being started in the outfield, and one of his shortstops is being started at UI. The only problem is that their primary position is the one being shown on the matchup screen. Not sure why this is happening, but it's okay as long as the players in question have proper eligibility and position requirements are met. The only truly illegal lineup I've seen was a few weeks ago when DH was somehow able to set 11 offensive players.
I know if I were to go to lineups and just hit submit with the same players starting as the previous game my lineup would be jacked up. I have to completely remove all players and re-enter them in order for players to be in their right positions and if I didn't do this my lineup would still be legal but alot of the players would appear to be out of position. My theory is that this is what is allowing some players to set illlegal lineups .... for instance if I start Thome and Tino at 1b and UI respectively but when I got into the lineup screen to first set it and Thome is listed at RP wouldn't I in theory still be able to start another 1bman?
Bob - it's funny when i set my line-up it has the normal range of positions including UI, then in the match-up screen or if come back to change my line-up again... it relists them under there primary position as set by the program... probably the same reason players who have multiple eligibilty only appear on one page in the Statistics section.. which i find a tad annoying
Damn right I disapprove! If you had started 7 pitchers this week, you could have...um...welll...well, you still would have lost by a hundred points. Nevermind.

Dotel goes to a pitcher's park and Beltran goes to a hitter's paradise. Both players should improve tremendously.

cj takes over first place in the west!!! Sam drops to 2nd, Behad pulls into 3rd and I drop to 4th (temporarily of course) I am throwing my 5 best pitchers at Sam for our week 25 matchup. A must win for me. Looks like I will have to win this thing without any help from my relief pitchers
