Yo yo yo. Now that the draft is over, we can get to the most important aspect of any league: talking trash! This will be the main discussion thread for the season. Here are the rosters. Of course everyone thinks that their own team is the best, but my question to you is: "If someone held a gun to your head and said that you absolutely had to switch rosters with someone, which team would you pick?" Great pitching, good relievers and decent enough hitters.
Also, don't forget to set your lineup. I can carry forward previous lineups during the season in case people forget, but I can only do it if an initial lineup is set. If you forget to set one for the very first game, you're out of luck.
If Jayson Williams pointed a gun at my head, I might possibly take Jent's team, but I'd be dead either way
If I had to pick one, I would take Sam's team. Dude has an all-star team of position players. Pitchers, however, is another story. Very weak starting pitching, but I could fix that with a few free agents and a trade or 2. Urbina was a nice late pick and should produce wherever he signs. Chacon is a risk that might work out.
Joe Nathan's also a reliever for my team, closer for the Twins. Since he hasn't started a game since 2000, I'm not sure why Fanstar's got him listed at SP. I really like Smeg's combination of offensive stars and pitching depth. He's in real trouble if any of his position players get hurt, though. Bob has a really well-rounded squad, with several late-round steals like Jiminez and Konerko. I don't see any weaknesses on his team.
No prob, dude. I'll change him. If anyone else has relievers that should be starters and vice versa, let me know. I've switched a few already.
Gun to my head Fade's Expos look solid but if RJ can return to form it could push him over the top. PSJ's pitching is awesome but that's to be expected when you take pitchers in the first seven rounds, if we're going on name recognition alone his hitters should make his strategy hold up but in the recent past some of his big name guys have been injured or in this post steriod age of baseball we'll see how his big name aging stars hold up. I suspect that is why he was able to draft them that late anyhow. If I had to pick a weakest team (and I don't but I will anyway) I'd say Darkhorses team would be the one I'd least like to own. Sorry Hoss.
The first game is Tuesday March 30th (Yankees- Devil Rays in Tokyo) So have those lineups set by Monday the 29th
two quick questions 1. have a a few players who are eligible for multiple positions inlcuding a mix of OF and IF and they don't appear on the UI list of players eligible......what's up with this 2. Are the Starters up on the various websites yet???
if i had to pick another team, it would probably be either Fade's as he is usually successful, or Finn's as i like his mix of batting and pitching or maybe PSJ, with his pitching.,.......
March 29th Mike Mussina vs Victor Zambrano March 30th Javier Vasquez vs Jeremi Gonzalez Thats all I've seen so far. fade will have to answer your first question.
No idea, but you can go to RotoWorld.com and click on the Spring Training link and click on each team to see the pitching rotations to get an idea, just in case they are not posted before our deadline.
thanks Finn, will be checking lots with my vast array of mediocre pitchers i am going to have to rotate all the time
think it is Dunn, Millar and Wilson.... all 1b ( and catcher for Wilson eligible) but don't appear in my UI list of players
It seems that a player whose primary position is OF cannot be used as a UI even if they have some sort of infield eligibility. I can fix the problem by changing the player's primary position. You should be fine now.
