Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer teaser trailer

Kevin Smith talked about box office numbers in his new Q&A DVD. He said that in the DVD era, ticket sales are pretty much meaningless. Studios are happy if they make money on a project, and DVD sales go almost completely to the studio, unlike box office receipts that send a big chunk to the exhibitors. Thus, his continuing career despite lackluster attendence at the theaters. Fantastic Four, Hellboy, and the Punisher probably made the studios quite a bit of money (the Punisher sold almost 2 million copies in it's firts 5 days of DVD release), and they know that they will make money again with sequels. If someone told you that you could invest in something with a guaranteed 20+% return in one year, wouldn't you do it?
