why don't we keep it at 6 keepers and make on those 6 a franchise player?

Thanks to those who have paid and everyone for their input. I was hoping for more of this type of discussion at the end of last year. Instead, I just sort of had to pick something and go with it, but I think it will all work out great if we give it a chance.

I understand your point, Rook, but I think we need to stick with the 6 for this year. I know you have a multitude of great players  but that was the agreed upon number going into the year. I certainly would not have traded Crawford away had I known I could keep 7.

Smeg, that's a possibility, but I think I prefer the symmetry of the 2-2-2 system with the 1 extra for your "franchise player."

Regarding the draft, obviously we most likely will not be starting on time (cross your fingers though). We'll just have to get it rolling as soon as all spots have been selected and all keepers declared. DarkHorse gets next crack at spot selection:

    Draft order selection list
    1. Jent's Llamas (7077)
    2. SmegCity Smarmy Gits (7134)

    4. PhiSlammaJamma (7422)
    5. Rook (7490)
    6. LongHornFan's Xtreme Chalupa (7507)
    7. Expos Forever (7684)
    8. The Aliens (7628) -- defending champ always gets last spot

#1 - I was just trying to find a way to incorporate PSJ's idea as I thought it was clever, especially with the twist I put on it as a suggestion (I actually liked it  ). There was no hidden agenda as you suggested - I have my keepers set already. Bottom line I could care less if you switch it to 4 keepers, 10 keepers, 1 keeper, whatever you choose only if we do it before everything gets started, I don't care and not going to throw a fit. What I did not want to see is us continue change the keeper rules, especially with the new one you introduced, each season - I want to see them set and move forward with them.

#2 - I would quit working about people picking their draft order and just seed them the way you have them, as most likely that is how it will turn out, that way we can get the draft started.

Next time, I need to learn to keep my 2 cents to myself. :p  :p

Smeg and Sam - a tale of two different philosophies on keepers.

By the way am I suppose to tell my keepers now or when I pick my draft place, because I can.

Smeg I hear you and will put a cork in it.

Well then, I'll take the back-to-backs at spot 8, which leaves defending champ SamCassell with #7.

I'll get the draft up and running as soon as possible.

The draft has officially started. I'm not going to set a timer until I get home tonight because I think I mentioned previously that we'd start the evening of the 10th, but everything is set up and ready to go. The timer will be for 8 hours per pick.

As before, please post picks on the BBS as well as entering them on the site.

    Good luck everyone!

Have all the keepers been declared. Tough to make the 1st pick if I don't know who all is available.

All have been declared and set up on the draft board, I guess you can make your first pick - and the anticipation is killing me - whenever your ready.

Just to help you out, I heard a little rumor that Roger Clemens is making a strong comeback and is going lead the league in strikeouts and wins, so make your pick and don't let anyone else know about that free tidbit - but that would be a great way to start the draft.

All keepers have been declared and are assigned to their appropriate teams on the league site, so there should be no question as to who is available.

Roger Clemens would be a fine pick at #1, but I would personally recommend Mark Prior.

The rule in this fantasy league, has and always will be that you get to draft mark Prior and all that potential...........
