Im sorry but, that team was a mess before he got there

He won a championship ring already

He's been to the finals more than once

the posts in threads around here arent discussion

    they are crap.

much like the winning percentage of this team.....but worse.

It's little wonder I hardly stick my nose in around here anymore...this forum has become unbearable.(note to Clutch: I am not pulling a amfootball here..im just referring to garm)

have fun whining to each other all offseason...cause your scapegoats will still be here next year...whether you like it or not.

    VG will NOT get fired
    Tracy WILL be back
Rafer will more than likely be back
    Howard WILL be back.

all the whining and b****ing in evey thread does absolutely ZERO good...I guarantee you Les ALexander is NOT going to make personnel decisions based on waht a bunch of sideline GMs are ranting about on internet message boards....period

and in the meantime...you have ruined a perfectly good bbs. :(

Totally agree, R2K. The only thing more frustrating than watching the Rockets lose is coming in here and reading all these whiny posts. I tell you -- I kid you not, one person started a thread demanding for Carroll Dawson to be fired, and I sarcastically posted a response in there saying they should start a "fire Le$" thread too. And within 10 minutes someone was in agreement already, demanding that Les should sell the team to a more competent owner.

It's horrible to think that RealGM is actually more bearable to read these days than ClutchFans. As much as I love this BBS, I have to say it.

Like you said ... people will whine and moan all they want, but whether they like it or not, JVG will be back next year, and so will CD, Yao, T-Mac, Rafer, Juwan, Luther, and Patrick Ewing. And then maybe some of these people will finally go jump off a cliff in desperation.

When I was a 12 year old kid, and my 6 year old twin brothers would act like 6 year olds, I would either go to my room or ride off on my bike or go play ball with my friends.

Mom never appreciated it when I whined about my whiney brothers.

So either keep on whining about the whiners, start a great discussion and ignore any whiners who show up, or have one of these threads:

poster 1: Van Gundy and the Rockets are wonderful.

poster 2: I agree 1, and I so admire your post.

poster 3: Yeah, we'll get them next game (year, decade).

poster 4: great attitude everybody! I am feeling the good kharma of this forum. It makes me think happy joy-joy thoughts!

poster 5: I think I am about to Hakeeeeemmmmm!!! AAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I get a little frustrated being jerked around by both sides - either the "everything is perfect and wonderful crowd and get lost if you dare to actually discuss the strengths & weaknesses of coaches & players, you obviously fell off the bandwagon and don't really love the Rockets"

or the other side where Van Gundy is Satan and the cause of all plantar fasciatis and fungal infections in the league, and trade everyone now and if you disagree with me you are an idiot!

black or white. but no grey allowed here. no discussing the good the bad and the ugly. not allowed to love the Rockets and talk about the facts of their play.

The one I really love is the poster whO pops in and says something like: this discussion is so infantile and beneath me I will ridicule you, tell you how much more I know and could add if I cared to comment, but I will never bother to actually contribute anything of substance. Then I will talk about how far this forum has fallen.

I would love to see some of these gods share their ambrosia like knowledge with the rest of us. I would love to have someone with a basketball mind like Gundy's drip the sweet honey of wisdom regarding potential moves and the way the team practices and really works, and the reason why some things won't work. We thirst for this type of sharing BECAUSE WE LOVE THIS TEAM!

BOTTOM LINE I GET THAT PEOPLE AS STUPID AS THEY MAY APPEAR TO EACH OTHER DO LOVE THIS TEAM. THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT BRINGS THEM BACK!

that's obvious. i just hope that the organization knows that the fans are frustrated and dissapointed, and i don't see what is wrong with people being upset and frustrated at the way the season is going.

but the fire JVG, fire CD, trade T-Mac, trade rafer posts have to stop...it's getting annoying and redundant. no one person is to blame for the failures of the team this year. everyone involved is somewhat responsible.

i think having our coach who verbally takes responsiblity for the failure but does nothing to change it on the court, and then rips his players everyday in the media doesn't help either.

the whole thing is frustrating, and i wish people would stop trying to make ONE single person the scapegoat when the whole organization is responsible.

Man I could not agree more. I mean some of those fans in the chats are disgusting, they're not fans at all. They do know who they are so we won't name names. My brother and I always catch the games these days, we went out and got league pass. While I'm not enjoying all of the losing that's going on, I do enjoy Ming's progression. Just like Kobe had an off year last year, TMac did this year. Difference is that TMac's younger, and he's not as much of a jerk. I've rarely kept up with the bbs lately too, it's a bunch of garbage on here, and I'm ashamed to contribute to it in posting this. I hope that things get better here next year, and for the first time, I look forward to the slow part of the offseason on these boards.

    I don't get it.

-- The team sucks big time and fans can't vent? Since when BBS becomes a place people can only say 'positive' things? Fans critisize the team and the organization when they really deserve it -- does that disgrade this board? What kind of board you can find without this kind of frustration?

-- Our complain has 0 impact on the organization so we should just shut up? When has your opinion ever affected Mr. Bush -- so I guess you just sit back and clap for whatever he did?

Well, guess we should just stay content, find any 'positive sign' of the team if we can, find excuse for the team (even they don't care, as you suggested), smile when seeing the same coach and same players bring up one lose after another, then we're the 'true' fan, 'nice fan'.

No wonder Toyota Center is one of the quietest arena in NBA. No wonder refs screw us up big time.

that's EXACTLY why I don't think reacting and calling for JVG's head at this time is appropriate.

I mean, a reputed, above average (anyone seriously arguing against this?) NBA coach and a number of casual basketball fans disagreeing about something. -- Who do you trust more with?

We as fans just don't know everything behind the scenes and most of us are not knowledgeable enough for all the Xs and Os on the court. Questioning and even criticizing coach when the result ain't good? I'm fine with that. Calling a coach's head because you don't agree with him on some of his expertise? that really take a huge ego.

sadly, there seems too be a bit too many egos in recent weeks for my liking. :(

    I know
People have limited idea of what BANDWAGON Means
the catch phrase of the day is ONLY FAN
    Jeff OF
    YAO OF
Now . . if you don't like something or a player. .. then you are an ONLY FAN
When Don Chaney was fired. . . I wonder how many HAKEEM ONLY FANS were here
When OT was traded . .. how many DREXLER ONLY FANS came here

Most folx here are ROCKET FANS
strange thing is. . u can be a Rocket fans . .and still like to watch
another team . .or even another player play
I know I know. . sounds impossible but it is true

TERMS I HAVE COME TO HATE:
    ______ Only Fans
    PO-TEN-TIAL!
    Basketball IQ
    . . The 'right' way

I agree with you, Sir! Sometimes, it's real joy to read rational but sharp comments from you. :p

When we are losing, we will always see complaints, then complaints about complaints, then more complaints about those people who complain about complaints. It just goes on and on, 24 hours later, the first 3 pages are full of complaints. I think in a time like that, maybe posters with more insight and knowledge can share some experience with others, to start some threads about basketball generally, history of NBA, legends, past great teams, and also about current college players Rockets might be interested etc etc. I guess, if complaining people have something to read, learn, and actually discuss about, they might get tired of those complaints as well.

    Here's the bottom line...

    1. This Rockets team minus Yao and T-Mac is a VERY BAD lottery team.

    2. This Rockets team minus Yao is a lottery team.

    3. This Rockets team minus T-Mac is a lottery team.

    4. This Rockets team with Yao and T-Mac is a playoff team.

Our primary goal this offseason should be for statements 2 and 3 to be more like statement 4. In order to accomplish this, the supporting cast has to improve. This team needs better shooters, bottom line. That should be more of a priority than the PF position. We are at a talent disadvantage in most games without both T-Mac and Yao healthy and on the floor.

    Cheers,

    MasterIce

Alice "My you have a handful of moonbeams, they are quite lovely. What are their purpose?"

Sunshine "I'm here to throw them around the Clutch BBS."

Alice "What will they do? Make everything nice?"

Sunshine "Exactly, everything will be happy, everything will be wonderful, all is well, nothing must change, no mistakes were made.....afterall, it's wonderland!"

Alice "Gee, that's just swell, Sunshine. But, what if things aren't really that way? What if that is not real?"

Sunshine " That's the point, if we throw enough moonbeams around, everything will be O.K., just perfect. We will make reality, it's wonderland."

Alice "I feel happy, like a true fan."

You know what is worse than a bandwagon fan?

A fan who whines about other fans, and the way they view their teams.

Some people are optimists, some pessimists, but everyone here....especially contributing members count as a true fan in my book.

I don't think anyone is any more or less of a fan than I am, or anyone else.

    People just view things differently.

I don't mind criticism of the team, or praise of the team, anything....but I despise people comparing fandom johnshon size.

It is a no win circle.

derrick is correct. I do not visit this forum very often anymore due to the constant crying for instant satisfaction.

Everyone of you, bandwagon fans, need to take a look at yourself. You are a disgrace to our great city and organization.
