Yeap, Taiwanese people are crazy proud of their athletes. If only people remembered Joe Alexander was born in Taipei...

How did they get all this merchandise made so fast? Nobody thought Lin would be a Rocket...

I wonder what's going to happen to all his Nike shoes in Knicks colors.

Just wait for the first Indian NBA player to enter. That will be crazy too.

But that merchandising money goes for the NBA (BRI) and not the Rockets, right?

He was just born there, he isn't a Taiwanese national nor holds ethnic heritage and hasn't competed on their national team. Joe Alexander also said he considered Beijing his hometown, not Taiwan.

On the other hand, TJ Burke was born in Taiwan, his mother is Taiwanese, and said he would consider playing for Taiwan.

It might be even crazier if a Philippines NBA players were to enter and plays good, besides a naturalized dual-citizenship one like Javalee McGee.

Nah. Revenue from merchandise is split evenly between all teams in the NBA. The Rockets get the same amount of money as the Knicks will.
