He could have played with Howard if he waited one more season in Orlando. And you will still hear " i never had Shaq or TD, ... , no question about it"

Man **** this guy. He had Vince Carter in his prime and Yao Ming in his prime.

He might want to ride with the Nazghul but with his mentality he's more like Gollum.

Well yeah but Yao has never really been healthy when post season arrived.

Ironically the one season when Mac acted like a b**** and whined was when the team reached the 2nd round. It made it seem like Tmac was the one who was holding the team down while Yao Ming was the one who was keeping the team in games, when the opposite was true.

Anyway I think Tmac reads all the posts about him being a she-mac, and all this constant throwing teams under the bus he does is sort of a defensive reflex. IMHO it is correct, he would have reached the 2nd round by now if he was paired with an all star who was healthy all season long, however it really doesn't endear him to anyone. Right now him commenting about the Miami heat sounds like a diss to his current team.

It's funny how being media savvy (or not being media r****ded) can be the difference between beloved sports icon (Yao) and public enemy #1 (T-Mac). Both perennially injured, both at the tail-end of their careers, both underachievers, yet one is perceived as a champion and the other a loser. Go figure.

Of course. The only difference between Yao and T-Mac is their media savvy. Nothing to do with the fact that one quit on his team, and the other stayed in the gym longer than anyone else. Nothing to do with the fact that one whined incessantly about lack of support, while the other being the consummate teammate.

T-Mac's mouth had nothing to do with him quiting on everyone on the court.

If T-Mac were media savvy, the perception about him would change. He quit because his body failed him. He shouldn't have even been playing that two years ago. T-Mac talked about retirement and he was labeled a whining loser. Yao talks retirement and people get in a group hug and start sobbing about it. You can't say that he quit in Utah when Yao was out for the playoffs. Or in any playoff series for that matter. Sure, he may have coasted during the regular season, but how much of that was function of his diminishing health and how much of it was a lack of desire?
