That's still one player too many. As an expiring, Jeffries will be traded. If they can't trade him at the beginning of the season or in the summer, they'll let Hayes loose.

we have no worries on playing against any 'bigger' teams
and Miller is a Sabonis typed center who can provide a screen for our inexperienced power forwards.
Also, good price, knows the system with trusted mid-ranges, he will suit our team in all dimensions.^^

Yep, sounds similar to Van Gundy signing washed up Knicks, or Kubiak signing Denver's castoffs.

If the price is right, I'm all for it. He is definitely not a player that is going to be a difference maker in the playoffs, but he brings some veteran leadership into the locker room. Looking up and down our roster we're a fairly young team. Plus the way I'm reading in to it, Yao may never be able to play at 100% again. Any size is a help. Miller certainly isn't going to lose us any games, either.

Ya know, signing Brad Miller lets us forego pushing to add a big-time big, either as FA or in the draft: We'd have Yao, Miller, Scola, Hill, plus the scrubs: Jeffries, Hayes (sorry Chuck).

This could signal that DM is going after one or two hot-shots at PG, SG, SF. If he gets a smaller player that he wants in the draft, then he'll go after Brad Miller.

IF we get him, I'd be happy for the short term.

I just hope we find a long term center, hopefully through draft. That Baylor kid looks nice.

I hope it's not coach's idea. The boss keeps recruiting his old boy. It's not a good thing really. That means he wants to strengthen his power and he doesn't trust his subordinates.

Only if we get our guy in the draft. I'm not opposed to the idea as backup insurance but I want some youth, athleticism and upside in my frontcourt. You know, an above-the-rim player for a change. Jordan Hill was a nice addition but this is the draft to collect a stud big man that fits that description.

How does Miller help in beating La? If it doesn't, then whats the point?

whoever threw out the idea of turiaf I love it, turiaf is one of my favorite players, very defnesive orientated and plays with lots of energy, not so great at scoring. Similar to check but more athletic and taller, and is a great shot blocker, so not much at all like chuck...

miller is a decent pick up, but I still rather have jermaine oneal, altbiet at a little bit higher cost, maybe the entire mle nets us j oneal...he answers many problems for us most notably defense, size, shot blocking, while still being able to put the ball in the hole. He is capable of playing big minutes and can play with both yao and scola as well as hill...yao scola and jo all have a decent jumpshot, as well as the ability score in the paint.

I think miami resigns wade and tries to bring in amare, making oneal expendable, does it anyone think he is a realiastic possibility at the mle? He averaged just over 13 pts 6.5 boards and 1.5 blocks this year...

He pulls away Gasol or Bynum away from the paint on offense, otherwise BM will hit that midrange jumper all day.

Im watching brad Miller, everyone should watch these two series, the Bulls and the Blazers to see how Camby and Miller play. If we want defense, i say camby, he was dpoy 2 years ago..you dont just lose that. Besides, Camby/Yao, yao can move to PF because he has an excellent mid range game..and that would be a MAJOR mismatch with yao playing PF and Camby Clogging the lane for a few minutes a game

I want that Varejao kid. I know lot's of people hate on him, but if he was on our team i bet most people will find a way to love him. He hustles very hard.

Varejao is a poor mans Scola with double the flopping capabilities. I would hate him on this team.

I don't have a problem with Brad Miller as a second stringer. My concern is that Yao Ming may never play big minutes again and we will need something better than a second stringer. A 1.5 stringer if you will. Not sure a one year older Miller can fill that role. Good big men are hard to find and this will be a hard role to fill. An older player in his last year or two may be all we can get.

What we need is an Otis Thorpe.
