    Let's not talk about age...

Remember that 7'2 guy we had playing back up center up until this year??

If Miller can still produce, I'm all for it.

I think a few people are underrating him, because he will be valuable especially because he already knows the offense like the back of his hand

    I've always appreciated Miller's game.

He is white and therefore automatically has a high basketball IQ.

Brad Miller at the LLE would be perfect.

Great Rebounder, Passer, mid range shooter and Good post play.

    Good Locker room guy too.

I'd rather get someone with some shot blocking skills. I'm really not all that familiar with his defense, but I really don't know that we'll need his offense much next year.

My guess is we either try and get him LLE or hope to have him available as a last resort.

Meh. Decent player, but not the best fit here with Yao/Scola. Too slow to play with Yao, can't block shots so he and Scola would keep the layup line going. Spot minutes with JJ or JHill...maybe.

Can't see Andersen and him on the same roster though.

I'd say its an awesome acquisition in 2010. Look at the facts:

    1. Familiar with Kevin Martin and Adelman. This will allow and easier transition with Battier and Yao.

    2. He has already commented he is willing to play for less than he did this year.

    3. You can't sign players that are not there- If miller is the best option to eat up minutes, then thats who you go with.

    4. He proved this season he could still play some real minutes with noah out, which the Bulls are in the playoffs. In fact, he played 82 games with an avg. of 23.8 minutes this season.

    5. who doesn't want a Brad Miller jersey?

This would a great move by the Rockets.

Picture Yao, Scola, Miller, AB and Kevin in the crunch. Each of them can knock down the jumper with consistency, have great freethrow percentages and are high IQ players.

Who do you guard? You wouldn't be able to double any of them without being punished.

Morey said he's looking for a shot blocking presence through a trade, so I'm sure this isn't his last resort, but rather another piece to the puzzle

and instead he finds Brad Miller!

Did you read this and think that our starting five would be Brooks/Martin/Ariza/Miller/Yao?

I don't think jefferies is part of the big picture, so i have a hard time believing any free agency acquistion will be splitting minutes with him.

    You can kiss Andersen goodbye.

You can't sign players who are not on the market.

Brad Miller will be our Yao replacement for the start fo the season untill Yao has completely finished with his rehab and is ready to play.

So yes, we are still going to get a shotblocking backup Centre.

But yeah, saying he is a rich mans david andersen is an understatement. Better shooter, better postmoves, much better at finishing around the rim, Great great passer, better rebounder and more importantly he actually has passable man to man defense.

Agree that they need shotblocking and I think Morey will add that somehow, but Miller's offense would still be needed with Yao being brought along very slowly from the start of the season.

I only see this as a final off-season move aka Plan B.

He's still a better than average backup center. He could even start in a pinch, but he won't address any of our defensive issues.

I think this is Morey's solution to lack of Defensive skill.

He'll take weak shot blocking for smart defense (Miller Took 26 charges this season)

He passes very well in the lane. He can score from beyond lane.
