Why do we need a power forward? We have Scola, Hill, and Patterson forming a massive logjam at the position.

    We need a center.

maybe to get help this season, rather than next year. Plus it's different when you're exchanging salaries instead of just signing players.

Which means we still got Jordan Hill and a 2012 first round pick, and the rights to swap, this season, is a huge benefit even if we end up with a worse record than the Knicks.

Cousins is a PF that can very well play the 5 and may turn into a full time C in the future. Scola is aging and Hill looks like another brick in the wall. Patterson isn't even on our active roster.

the swap certainly isn't worthless yet, but i am curious how much are we paying (aka JJ's contract + potential lux tax) for hill, 2011 option, and 2012 first? and did we have to pay the trade kicker or did the knicks?

things haven't worked out that well this year for the rockets, but a lot of people (myself included) were looking at this trade as if the knicks were never going to acquire players and were always going to suck. they got a top tier PF and solid PG from the FA pool, drafted well, coached well enough, and they are probably gonna make the playoffs in the east. i didn't want to admit it, but this trade was never as golden as we were wanting/needing it to be.

I just can't understand this orginization. They signed Miller to that contract now they are looking long-term? That should have been the mojo before his contract. Perhapes just another asset to flip again. Perhapes we all thought they could win again this year obviously. Looks like the change is on. Bring in Cousins and Landry and go for broke. At least with cousins you have a very talented project. Landry is semi-young not over the hill just yet can be a bright spot off the bench. But if this is the case then it proves signing Miller was a bad move unless he's dealt.

Sactown isn't trading Cousins. I wish they were, but its time to move on from this rumor.

I thought the rockets were interested him before he was drafted, I don't think the Kings will give up on him from the first year.

Maybe they think he's a bust and are willing to trade for a NY pick..which I would do.

Could someone please add a poll to this thread??

Something like: Who would you rather have, Hill or Landry?

So we can see what all of Clutchfans has to say.

i dont think that a team will give up on a lottery-pick rookie because of immaturity alone. Despite his immaturity, he has shown the potential to be a darn good nba player. though you can make the argument that the knicks traded a lottery pick rookie to us last year in hill, it wasnt because of his attitude; they believed hill to be a bust and that he had no potential to develop.

    Patterson isn't even playing.

    Hill is inconsistent.

    Scola plays no defense.

All that matters is this...Rockets can improve at the 4...in fact Rockets can improve at every position and when the opportunity comes for them to do that they need to take it imo.

Or maybe they think he's expendable if they can get Brooks + extras?

Obviously their team is going to revolve around Tyreke Evans - and so maybe their desire is to put a legit scorer next to him in the 'PG' spot. Perhaps someone unorthodox, but who can take the heat off Evans at the perimeter when required?

Is Cousins clearly better than Jason Thompson? Perhaps in their mind they're liking what they see in Hassan Whiteside and are happy to go forward with Whiteside/ Thompson plus a draft pick? their opinion may well be that finding the type of point they're after is more difficult than bringing in more tall timber...

Who knows what is really going on here? But I'd be happy to see Landry and Cousins come to Houston!

I'll go with Hill's potential over Landry's maxed out known quantity. I love Landry but not willing to give up Hill for him. With Hill's RFA status we can keep him around forever. Landry would ride out the season and then look to get paid somewhere since it will be his last chance at a big contract. He is 28 after all.

I don't think the Kings will trade Cousins just yet, but I could see the Kings willing to part with Landry in exchange for Patterson. Patterson was DeMarcus Cousins' college frontcourt teammate, and he could help calm Cousins and keep him focused.

Can't see Houston going for it though.

I love Landry but this team does not need another undersized frontcourt player. Especially at the cost of losing our only young big man with size in Hill.

Plus, I'd rather see Patterson get the minutes at the PF.

Those of you want hill over landry are simply.........

have you ever seen how landry fires up our bench? have you seen his energy and explosiveness?

go back to see the games, when hill is on the floor, the guy looks confused. He has no fire or emotions whatsoever......

come on, DM, bring back landry, I wanna say Landry is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need some sort of 3 way trade where we acquire Cousins and Iggy keeping Martin and Lowry. Then tank away and draft Irving.
