Not All-Star worthy? are u kidding me?

It's very simply. I think how you define a player to be better should be who has more ability to bring in more Ws to a team. Using this rationale, it is clear Mcgrady is a better player than either Butler and Iverson (both ranked ahead of T-Mac), because if you sub either one of them into this rockets team, we would not have won as much game.

T-mac isn't the only Rocket, all the players deserve love. So don't make it seem like he was Wilt Chamberlain or droppin' 81 during the streak.

And are you saying that Houston's defense during the streak wasn't great? Or that T-mac was the reason for Houston playing such great defense? More so than Battier, Deke, Yao, etc.?

And just like those players need T-mac to find them when open, T-mac needs them to hit their shots, which they did and deserve credit for. But they don't get any love for that.

And the 'double-team' argument is just overrated. Let's assume T-mac seems more double-teams than any player besides Lebron. Now, there's more than one reason to double-team a guy, so let's look at the facts:

Is T-mac one of the most potent scorers in the league? No.

Is he one of the most efficient scorers in the league? God no.

Is T-mac even the most potent scorer on his team? No.

So why does T-mac see all this 'defensive attention' that not even Kobe, Yao, Dwade, Dirk, or Amare Stoudemire get? Think about that.

I agree with you that T-Mac is no more one of the most potent scorer and he never will be an efficient shooter, but...i don't know why he gets all this defensive attention. You say that you know the motivation, can you explain that to me?

You know T-Mac's salary is more than the sum of payrolls from Butler and Ginobili? Yeah, I would go for it.

I don't know the motivation. I watch the Rockets significantly more than any other team in the league...so its hard for me to judge whether or not T-mac even recieves more attention than anyone else, and if its a result of teams viewing T-mac as a more potent force than any other player sans one or two.

It was always self-explanatory when people would talk about how Shaq in his prime drew more attention than any other player. It was because he was w/o a doubt an unstoppable force of nature.

But T-mac...today?!?! He's nothing like that. Yet people use the argument the same way people did with Shaq back in the day.

Caron Butler, David West, and AI are better players than Tracy? I don't think so...

Tony Delk has more 50pt games than Yao Ming, too. I guess he's a more potent scorer than Yao as well, right? No. If I'm funny, then you need to be Bernie Mac's replacement in Kings of Comedy Part II.

When a player scores more than another and does it shooting a more efficient clip, he's usually looked as the better scorer. Yao's lead the team in scoring each of the last 2 seasons, and he's done it scoring at a much more efficient clip than T-mac.

....But wait, I forgot about T-mac's 'impact'.

tmac always get a lot of attention on this board, even if he's not making news.

at the end of the day, regardless of what you feel about tmac as a player, he's our most INDISPENSABLE player on this team. the record since he became a rocket confirms that fact.

coaches around the league still respect him to send double teams; adelman still respects him enough to give him the responsibilities that only lebron, kobe, and wade can handle for a shooting guard.

tmac is no longer the player he once was, but he's still a top 5 perimeter player and only a handful of guys can do what he can do on a consistent basis. there's a reason when a guy like yao go down and our team doesn't miss a beat the past 2 years.

whether or not some fans like it or not, he remains "our guy." he's still the guy that's gonna get the most touches, shots, and decision-making down the stretch.

Fact? Hardly. More like wishful thinking. Tmac was the most indispensable player on the team last year after Yao went down. You can't make the same assumption this year. First of all, we don't know how Artest will mesh with the Rockets. Secondly, a healthy Yao is by far the most indispensable player on the team.

I'm not too sure Tmac will be seeing many double teams if Yao and Artest are also on the court.

    What was Adelman's alternative?

Actually, I think the touches and decision-making down the stretch will be based on how the game was played.
