Dude, i've been accused of being a *** and I would trade Tmac in a second for either Chris Bosh or Amare. 6'10 guys who are under 25 years old and yet to hit their prime don't grow on trees you know.

Granted we're built to win now and either of them would leave us with a logjam at the 4. But in different circumstances, there is no way in hell i wouldn't trade Tmac for one of those two. As good as Mac is, he's only going to get worse and at best has another 3 to 4 years of allstar (superstar) calibre play.

You can build around those 2 for the next decade.

You want to build your team around Chris Bosh? Good luck.

Yup. Which should be an indication that this topic is starting to show signs of having a full on T.O.F. vs Y.O.F flame war. So I'm going to avoid this thread from now on......

On a random note, anyone interested in joining a last minute FF league?

Actually, man. Tmac is more of a passer than a shooter,so it's thinkable that tmac's shooting skills are really bad.But being bad at shooting doesn't deny a player to be a great passer, just take a look at magic Johnson. Frankly I think tmac has many things in common with Magic,of course the virus are exceptions. In general, both tmac and magic are big guards that have bad shooting skills.Even though they play different positions, they both have great offensive awareness and passing skills. However, tmac's bad dribbling skills makes him unable to play the PG. But what if he can play PG? If so , then ron artest will be a line-up as well. Then our line-up squad will be YAO/Tmac/Scola/Shane/Ron. It's a squad that will make any other team give up the game vs us even before the game begins. If tmac can improve his dribbling skills in the two months to come and become a point guard like Magic, then he'll be gonna rank higher than 29.

Tmac refers to " Temporary Magic "

While I do not care for quite a few of your post you made me laugh on this one (in a good way). I can just imagine other teams coming in to Houston (or even waiting for Houston to come to them) and just saying "Aww man, can we just call in sick??".

Just my 2cents, but Tmac is a degrading star. Still star qualities but he gets too much credit in which he doesn't totally deserve.

The author is valid in many points, but 29? No WAY. How can someone who was in the ALL-NBA Third Team last year, lead his team to a playoff run and a successful season without Yao, be at no. 29. I think it would only be reasonable that he's in the top 10 as he is potentially one of the most lethal, unstoppable forces in the league when playing in top form.

that writer was spot on. t-mac was the least efficient scorer out of all the top scorers even though he took the second most shots per minute behind LeBron. t-mac has regressed ever since his back injury. I gave him last year to see if he could find his jumper, but i was dissapointed when I saw it was long gone.

anyone can see t-mac's not the scorer he once was. what needs to happen is t-mac needs to work on other areas of his game. he needs to RUN when we have a fast break. in case noone noticed, we averaged most of our fast break points when t-mac wasn't on the floor. that's because bonzi, head, or whoever was playing the 2 spot would run the floor.

Get the F@#k out of here, there's not 28 people better than t-mac. There's only a handful in fact that have the ability to lead a team as well as he has when yao has gone down the past couple years. He's not a good shooter but that's hardly the only indicator of his greatness. his playmaking ability is being incredibly overlooked.

Anyone who watched the Rockets with any consistency would of seen McGrady's shot falling before the injuries.

You obviously have never watched a game. Anyone who is true to themselves would know Tmac's game has declined. That is not to say we were not Rockets fans or that Tmac is still not a great player!

People like you need to stop making excuses for him and hyping him, making him sound like he does what Kobe does. Kobe had a ****ty team in the beginning of the season too but that didn't stop him from putty up all-star like numbers.

I'm not trying to bash Tracy by any means, but it's people like you who make me say Tmac has been overrated. People need to stop being so defensive and lying to themselves. I'm just as big of a Rockets fan as anyone else is on this forum, but don't let your love for Rockets blind you from reality.

Last time i checked, you weren't named old man rock - so why does it seem like you've been hiding under one for the last 4 years?

Have you seen Chris Bosh play? Even if u never watch Raptors games you watched the olympic games right? He was the best interior defender and singledhandedly stopped the pick n roll of the europeans.

He is probably one of the most versatile bigs in the league and offers 95% of what KG gives you - except he does not shy away at crunch time.

I'm sure given DWades injury history and his career path, a lot of GMs in the league would prefer to build around CB4 then Dwade.

Bryan Colangelo loves him but what does he know? Its not like BC is Isiah Thomas or Billy Knight. ;)

    2008 Playoff PER's:

    1. Chris Paul 30.71
    2. Dirk Nowitzki 26.43
    3. Kobe Bryant 25.10
    4. LeBron James 24.44
    5. Tracy McGrady 24.43

Slip Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan in there for their defense and you have where I stand on Tracy McGrady's rank in the NBA.
