I've been waiting since we made it out of the first round with Charles Barkley to get out of the first round.
Of course McGrady is not as great scorer as he was in Orlando but when he is healthly he is an elite scorer in this leauge and he can easily find spot in the first 10. But as I said, he gotta be healthly first. Just look at the numbers he averaged at the beggining of the last season. The writer didn't mentioned Tracy had to play with shoulder and knee injuries... And even with those issues he still was able to average 27 ppg during playoffs...it is not bad, is it? All McGrady needs is health. If he is 100% he can do whatever he wants.
No offense but I'm just wondering, if you're serious about the list, you're saying you would be willing to trade Tmac straight up for some of these people!?
The ranking is probably a little on the low side, by 10 people at most. He's certainly ranking AI and Melo above TMac and that's highly questionable in my opinion. Anyways, TMac should probably be somewhere around the 15 mark simply because of his versatility and effectiveness. The written assessment is spot on, though.
You gotta be kidding me. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying T-Mac is the best player in this leayge but COME ON. Just look what you wrote, and ask me now...would you trade T-Mac for: Igoudala, Marion, Calderon (LOL), Brand, Deron, Manu, Parker, Josh Smith, Bosh, Nash or Amare? If yes than your basketball knowledge is at a low level, sorry. Go ahead and make it and you can be sure you won't see Rockets in the playoffs for many many years.
There's a few on his list that don't make sense....But I know I wouldn't mind trading Tmac for Deron, Bosh, or Amare (maybe even for Parker or Manu). If you've watched other games, rather than just the Rockets ones, you'd probably do one of these trades too...
For about half of that list. The others would not necessarily fit in to what we have going. Like trading Tracy for Dwight would create two centers.
He is underrated but he does not carry the entire team. Edit: Quite frankly Mac is both underrated and overrated, as is Yao. Both of them deserve the lack of recognition they get until they prove themselves in the post season and stay healthy.
McGrady remains a hugely valuable player, as someone who rebounds well for his position, plays solid defense, sets up his teammates, limits turnovers, and can get a clean look at the basket against any defender in the league with a wide assortment of ball skills. lol sure about that solid defense? i mean he CAN play DECENT defense but he chooses not. to me it just seems that he just walks around on defense and doesn't give enough effort. but i believe tmac should be rated higher than #29 because of what he does for his team. he makes everyone around him better with his passing. i believe the creator of this thread is looking too much into statistics as us rocket fans know doesn't determine a true players value (shane battier)
