Man this is sad........ Everytime I see the games on TV and they zoom in on the ppl in the lower seats they are always older women and men in business suits! I makes me so mad , I agree with the last poster I make more sound at home than most all of the ppl at the game make! If you're wearing a damn business suit to a rockets game then you're not a fan. I believe ppl will be more rowdy if ticket prices were lower, rich ppl dont make noise. I just check on some tickets for the Utah Jazz, the highest price for there lower level tickets were $85!!! And there were near center court row 13!! Our owner has got to be one of the greediest ever.
the thing i can't stand is when someone around you tells you to keep it down. WTF?! if the rockets game wasn't incentive enough to get loud there's no way i'm gonna stay quite b/c of some jaded punk byatches.
That was most likely me. What section were you in. I'm normally in 228, but for the Kings game I was in 234 (I think). Couple of Indian dudes? I'm telling you no one has been louder then me the last two games! I was riding Christie with his punk ass signs to his wife. Webber about Michigan, crying and Tyra Banks. Told his ass he was my personal MVP - Most Valuable p***y! Vlade when his sorry ass was in the game got a earful from me as well. I was getting into some retarted Doug Chirstie fans as well. I mean honestly now come on, why in Gods green earth would anyone be a freakin Doug Christie fan? In the Philly game I rode Iverson as hard as its possible to do. You people quit complaining and start yelling the freak out yourself. I could not talk after the game it was so bad. People have sometimes told me to calm down, but that just gives me more hyped up. Last game I had a couple of 70 year olds complimenting me! I am pumped up baby! Yeah! Go Rockets! Everyone else go to HELL!
lol We gotta get this guy on the court with a mic to hype up the crowd instead of those drummer guys.
I spent part of the game in Section 121, but the people who bought the seats showed up at halftime. I was going to chew them out for being poor fans, but then I realized cause they were so slow in getting to the game I got to enjoy a better view for a quarter. I spent the rest of the game in section 223, yelling most of the time. I spent most of the 4th quarter on my feet cheering and yelling. I'd sit during time outs, but that was about it. I'm looking forward to losing my voice December 18th. B
That is why ticket discounts should be offered to members of this board. Maybe even transportation! I live about 130 miles away, but I might come in for BBS night. The contributers to this board will the rock the arena. We are rabid Rocket's fans; we would yell, scream, jump, and if allowed, be willing to throw things. If you want a lively crowd help get us to the games. We are the answer!
I'm hoping to liven things up a bit... I got my drum! I'm looking forward to beating the heck out of it at the next home game.
Nick, I hear ya! Sometimes I just don't get fans there... Maybe some of them are just older. I talked to Timm about this... Not sure what to think about it. Could be the southern culture. Everyting is at a slow pace for them....sigh....
I aint kidding man. I have waited too freakin long for the Rockets to be this good again. I have had season tickets for three years now (including this one). 2 years ago I was loud. Last year was just too freakin depressing. This year I am planning on getting my full moneys worth. If any of you guys are in sec 228 or kind of close to it and you hear a guy going absolutely nuts it would be me! way
I have to tell you...yes, fan support has been weak over the past few years, but this year there is a buzz and against Sac-town there were 4 standing Ovations for the Rocks!!!! I was really impressed and have not seen that in a couple years! Chill out and they will come back in droves..... I go to just about every, repeat every game, for the past 10 years and there is a buzz right now unlike ever before...this town is on the verge....a run after the texans are done will go a long way in January...stand by and quit bashing fans or non-fans...just watch and enjoy...
We started offering group discounts this year, and we've had great results -- group sales have more than doubled. So, clutchcitizens ... 1. Pick a night. 2. Get a headcount. 3. And we'll arrange for the discount based on the headcount. As for transportation ... dude, you're 130 miles away. Tim
Can you imagine how loud that section will be? I'll come as long as it's not one of my Cuttino 12-pack nights.
I swear to god... last night on the radio Gene Peterson said, "Somebody in here has a drum!" I believe he said it during the 3rd quarter of the Clippers game... He said it almost as if he were slightly annoyed but then laughed... GUTTERSNIPE!!! Was that youuuuu?
I have a small cowbell that I received at a bicycling event that would go over well at the Compaq Center.... what do you think?
Here's the problem with the noise, in my opinion: The $112 seats (all the seats you see on TV and the ones that have the potential for the most noise) are mostly held by corporate people and by rich season ticket holders. Rich and older people: I'm conflicted when I think about these people. On one hand, I love them. One of my goals when I get to the 50-80 year old range is to have bad ass Rocket season tickets. But they don't make noise. How could they? They're too old. They rarely stand up, and can't scream very loud. But I love them. A lot of them know eachother. They've been fans for a very long time. And they spend a great amount of money on the Rockets $112 x 41 = $4592 Holy crap! Corporate people: In general, these aren't big Rockets fans at all. Why would they make noise? I've had these seats. The seats are awesome. I made a lot of noise, but the suits around me were just there because they could be. I really don't know if there is one perfect solution.
