    I just remembered another one:

Several years ago, during the off season, I saw Avery Johnson at Jason's Deli in Sugar Land/Williams Trace.

Waaaay back in 1987, I saw Sylvester Stallone and his then wife Bridget Nielsen at Spagos in West Hollywood.

I'm 5'8"....Stallone is at least 3 inches shorter than me, while Bridget Nielsen is at least a foot taller than me.

Also saw Drayton McLane and then-Astros manager Jimy Williams at lunch at the State Grill a couple of years ago.

Never seen a celebrity or such at a restaurant, but I did see Ray Stevens one time at a golf store in the Green Hills area in Nashville. Also, when I was taking night classes for an MBA at MTSU, former VP Al Gore taught some class in the same building I had my classes but it was one of those half semester deals (and it was more of a seminar than an actual class).

My dad saw Hakeem at Olive Garden in like '91 and got his autograph for me.

I haven't seen any famous people dining.

Somewhere around 1992, I was in Houston for a long weekend. Coming in by plane, I got on the escalator to go down to baggage claim and who do I spot in front of me on the escalator?

    Elvin Hayes.

On Saturday, I duck into Kolaches on Memorial to grab some and who is being served in front of me?

    Art Howe.

On Sunday, I scoop some tickets to the Oilers/Bronocs game for my oldest nephew and off we go. At halftime, we head up to the mezzanine for some refreshment and who else is strutting around in his cowboy hat and boots? None other than....

    Dan Pastorini.
