For fans so desperate to get rid of Steve Francis, I figured everybody would be on this trade like Michael Jackson at a comic book convention...

What are the odds of TJ becoming an all star.

Hell, he's even shorter than SF.

    Repeat after me folks.

You only trade your all star if you get an all star in return.

The part that says Tim Thomas and TJ Ford make make more $7m above Francis' BYC value of $5m. Any further questions? ;) :D

T.J has trouble running the half court offense. My guess is that this is just a couple of sports radio personalities entertaining the thought of acquiring Steve; nothing substantial here. The Rockets would be much better suited with Hinrich.

On a side note, I am high on what Redd brings to the court.

If the Rox trade Steve......Houston will live to regret it. I'm so glad that you bandwagoners on this site are not GM's.

Reven, I don't think you have to worry. The salaries don't match up. If we have to trade him, at the worst it'll be TJ + Tim + ???

Doesn't TJ Ford have terrible shooting skills? Why would we want a PG who can't shoot in a system with Yao Ming? And at his height, how well can he feed the post?

I'd be fine with trading Francis plus any players not named Yao Ming for Redd, Ford, and fillers. Mostly because of Micheal Redd, who is a stud.

Francis and Cato for TJ, T. Thomas and D. Mason is a good deal.

Thomas has the proper height and range to be our 3. Jackson moves to the 2, TJ starts at the one, and we would still have Cuttino to provide instant offense off the bench, and Ron Artest lite in Desmond Mason, who is a great finisher. I see Mason as an improvement over Posey, no doubt.

Still with A. Griffin and Pike, we would be overloaded at the 2 and 3. Maybe package Cuttino with one of them? One more trade and we are set. Thomas has a high ceiling, maybe JVG can get the best out of him.

    Main Rotation:

    Yao/Taylor
    Taylor/Spoon
    Thomas/Mason/JJ/Pike
    JJ/Mason/Pike
    TJ/M.Jackson

    Another player for Mobley/A.Griffin?

Just don't expect Redd to be involved in any talks. He is having a FAR better season than Francis, at half the price. I would trade Francis for Redd straight up.

No offense Doc, but about half the players in the NBA have been trying to develop a shot for years. What makes u think TJ can just cause he 'works hard' at it? Look at Darius Miles, he already got traded twice, recently for Jeff Mcginnis.......what, u think he never practices? Do u know how many triple teams Yao will get w/ TJ as a point? I would still love him as our point, but he is not worth Steve. And what in the world do u find facinating with T. Thomas? he will be DESTROYED in the West....

As much as I know you guys love Ford, he is not the guy to run the show with Yao.

Both Ford and Hinrich can excecute at high speed, yes. Some of that would be stilted with Yao, yes. But the difference is, and it's a big one, Hinrich can hit from outside. If you think teams sag on Yao now, wait till the guy with the ball in his hands most of the time is a poor shooter.

Not to mention that our already small backcourt would get even smaller.

I think Ford can be a very effective point guard on the right kind of team...but this isn't it. He'd be better with a more mobile, athletic bunch he can run with, kind of like he has now. We already know what Cato costs Yao by team being able to double off of him. You want to make it a lot worse by allowing a high-low double all the time?

TJ is unproven and Tim Thomas is an underachiever who in the Bucks organization has been demoted to role/complimentary player

i dont know why ppl would want to trade stevie, im not his biggest fan but even i know hes an unreplaceable talent

Actually, he's actually played even better against the West than he has against the East. He's averaging 17.5 points per game when facing Western conference opponents. I can't really think of that many small forwards in the West that would destroy him.

Exactly, Tim Thomas is a waste of bench space in the East. Why do you guys think he'd be a starter on our team?

I do like TJ, though, and I most definitely like Redd.

there is no way this trade happens. If by chance Steve Francis was to be traded he would command higher value than tim thomas and t.j. ford. I'll pass
