Militaristic stuff is cool. But there's also alot more than that in the show... like the whole political thing with Roslin. And yeah, Adama is a beast. Reason enough to tune in.
The pilot episode of Heroes is on Yahoo. It's not as good as I was hoping but I may still watch a couple more episodes. http://tv.yahoo.com/
this is scrubs' last season! or at least zach braff's? no!!!!!! this is my show. i mean i know nbc has done everything possible to not give it a chance, but i thought i'd get at least another 2 seasons out of it. it has risen up to simpsons and cheers levels of awesomeness for me in such a short amount of time and i just wanted it to keep going. that whole cast is just perfect and the writing is just amazing. the way they incorporate every character without really diluting any of the other characters or making it seem forced, the way everything just fits together, the fun atmosphere the show has, the sappy songs they play at the end while all of life's problems are solved in 3 minutes, i love it all. and while it is a very ensemble type show, jd is central enough that it would never feel the same. you gotta have the jd/turk relationship that's the best part of the show. i don't even know if i can enjoy having it in syndication on comedy central b/c i liked having a week off from each show to keep it fresh. maybe i'll settle into watching it every day after a while. anyway, it'll suck if it only gets 6 seasons, but at least i'll never have to watch it fall off. and i can't believe i forgot to watch studio 60 last night? will nbc repeat the pilot anytime before the next episode or will i have to bittorrent it? just from the few commercials it looked funny and this thread is making me feel even better about it. plus i love perry's comic delivery, he does it so well.
For me, he's the only reason. I just don't care for Mary MacDonald's character either and I like him. Plus, the British guy...well, I just want to hit him most of the time.
It goes back to your one man vendetta against the Lord of Rings movies, in which you were seemingly the only person on the planet to hate them. But honestly, I didn't mean what I said as an insult. It was more of an observation. You just tend to be passionate and extreme in your views, which, although not necessarily a bad thing, makes it hard to fully agree with you. BTW, I love me some Farscape. I don't know if you saw it, but Stargate:SG1's 30-second spoof of Farscape in their 200th episode was hilarious.
LOTR were poor films IMO, and I'm not alone on that. They will definitely not stand the test of time. I agree with you that I'm passionate. How did they spoof Farscape? I'm intrigued. Not intrigued enough to tune into 30 seconds of that crapfest of a show though.
I decided this year I'm gonna try watching ALL the new shows and decide afterwards which ones I don't like, and stick with the rest.. anyway, so far the new Fox shows have disappointed me - Standoff (the romantic thing between the two is pretty...stupid), Vanished, and Happy Hour. 'Til Death with Brad Garrett is just a regular sitcom, but it's not that bad. Studio 60 was awesome last night. Today I'm eagerly waiting for Smith on CBS to come on in about 2 hours..it seems very well done according to the critics. Tomorrow: Jericho Thursday: My Name is Earl, THE OFFICE!, Six Degrees (?) (i wish i had a tivo at times like this)
Game, set, match. Stop making my arguments for me. It's annoying. Okay, maybe it's only 15 seconds. Here's the clip. (They go on to lampoon several other sci-fi shows.)
I like to watch "West Wing" very much, pity that it has come to an end (we are still showing season 7 here in Hong Kong). "Lost" is my new favourite but I guess they won't show season 3 here until mid 2007. My most anticipated TV show this fall has to be Rockets games for the upcoming season, though I mostly watch them on my PC monitor (R2K's clips).
I am a little with him on that. I really only enjoyed the first one (despite having problems with it). The following two I found to be unispired. Not poor, but uninspired. Too much needless CGI and odd plot decisions/hollywood clichés.
I can't believe not that many people have said House. It is one of my favorite shows out there. I'm a medical nerd, though. So for me: House Project Runway Top Chef (soon) Other food network shows (Iron Chef!, Unwrapped, Ace of Cakes, etc.) Project Runway isn't nearly as gay as it sounds. It's a show on Bravo that's gaining a lot of attention. This is the third season. The concept is that it pits fashion designers against each other, having them square off in making a wide variety of different outfits (one challenge had them make an outfit out of recycled material, one out of things found in their hotel room, etc.). It's a very fun show. One of the things I also like about it is that the person that is probably the best this season is a black guy who is semi-ghetto, and I just think that's neat.
I still can't believe Hugh Laurie is British. That's brilliant acting! He even irked me about how he said his "s"s wierd, and come to find out, he's acting that!
just d/l'd and watched studio 60. definitely very good. someone mentioned the production values and that was one of the main things i noticed. nbc must have thrown some serious coin at it because that's about as tightly paced and well-made as you're going to get for a pilot. not many pilots where it already feels like they know what they're doing and how everything will work on the show. nice cast as well. hopefully it stays this good and hopefully it gets an audience and stays on for a while.
