Congrats to all teams that made the playoffs:

    1st round (week 42 + week 43 combined score)
    The Aliens vs. Jent
    PhiSlammaJamma vs. Rook

The format will be the same as the regular season. No SP/RP limits; must start (5 SP & 2 RP) or (4 SP & 3 RP).

    Good luck!

Well done Sam. Though we have another game period, I think you've all but wrapped up this match-up. Your pitchers are all on a roll at the right time...and pairing that with what is likely the best roster of position players, your team will be difficult for either Rook or PSJ to beat. I think my season was lost in the weeks leading up to this matchup. Dropping from the 3rd to 4th seed did me in. On to Smeggy's league!

Sounds like a reverse jinx attempt to me. You can't fool me, Jent!

Seriously, though, a couple of poor pitching starts for me and good starts for you and it's a close game again. Nothing decided yet. 70 points is nothing.

I set a lineup for the fantasy World Series, don't see a way to track the game though. Is it set on the website?

I set my lineup too. What is left of it. Typically this would be a clash of styles. Pitching vs. Hitting. Yet Alien Nation is well rounded this year and superior on all fronts. Here's too taking down Gigantum in this epic clash.

Rook would have taken me down with Pujols and Jessie Barfield healthy. but Houdini escapes.

Congrats to PSJ and Sam for making the world series!

The matchups are set now. Combined total score over the next 4 game periods wins.

Let me say beforehand, I'm scared to death of the PSJ rotation. Gonna win both Cy Young awards this year, and Strasburg is the *5th* best pitcher on the squad. Meanwhile, I'm starting a rookie Astro this week. Hard to feel like a favorite, much less Gigantum, under those circumstances...

Left a CG 1 hitter on the bench last night. Down 70 now and kicking myself. That choice might have given PSJ the title.

Trailing by 38 in the hitting categories to a pitching heavy squad. Actually holding the line on pitching, ironically. Got to turn around the bats if I'm going to make a game of this in the final week...

Not to take away steam from the finals, but any interest in expanding to 10 teams next year? I think most of the teams are stacked as it is, so I don't think an expansion draft would water the rosters down too much. Maybe allow each team to protect "X" players and then if someone from their roster is drafted, then protect "X" more for future picks until each expansion team has their six keepers.

Good luck again to Sam and PSJ in the final week.

cj -- I would happily expand to 10 or even 12 teams. Unfortunately, there has not been that much interest historically, and some years I have had a hard time even getting 8. However, since we are most likely moving this to Yahoo next season (which is free) it might be possible to drum up enough interest to expand.

Also, nice championship match you guys have going on so far. Been really close and could go either way.

As mentioned previously, I have interest in joining if you guys do decide to expand.

That was a disastrous 7 day stretch. And oh those Devil Rays and Tigers. Blowing Holds that I desperately needed. Feldman going hero ball on me. And there remains my arch rival James Shields still on the docket. But I believe! Still in this. About to throw out a reverse jinx... Aliens are the best ever, there's no stopping them, and where I thought there was hope, there is none. Woe is me.

    Ok. Game on now.

Still facing the ridiculous Kershaw-Cobb-Strasburg rotation, and now Encarnacion is back in the PSJ lineup. I can just see a mid-week Kershaw no hitter destroying me.

    The Aliens: 191 + 244 + 176 = 611
    PSJ: 136 + 232 + 222 = 590

Only 21 points separation going into the final game period. Still very much anyone's game!
