Didn't mean to single you out LH. I don't like the idea of policing the IR too much but since this case was really obvious I felt I had to say something. Didn't mean to come down on you specifically.

Did we really draft more players? I don't remember upping the roster size.

Actually, I agree that it's a excellent idea to increase the starting lineup sizes somehow. Ever since we cut down to 8 teams, it seems like every team is stacked which I feel has been hindering trading. Expanding the starting lineups might help that somewhat.

In addition to what we have now, perhaps we can add these additional spots:

    - Middle Infielder (MI): SS or 2B
    - Corner Infielder (CI): 1B or 3B
    - Increase the pitching limits beyond 155 SP and 130 RP and add another slot for pitchers.
    - Maybe even add another OF?

Just tossing out ideas for now. We'll do a vote on all this after the season.

Also Rook, last year we agreed that the keeper count after this season will be increased to 6 players.

I completely spaced on the trade deadline. Maybe because there haven't been any trades. :p

MLB deadline has already passed. Let's put ours at midnight EST August 16 (Sunday). That gives everyone a little over a week to get any deals done.

What's with blowing up at the person who's enforcing the rules that we all agreed to follow?? And then the guy who points out the infraction apologizes? That's ridiculous. Intentionally abusing the IR system is bush and it's cheating, bottom line. Why would you cheat in a keeper league where we're all friends and fellow clutchfans? And all for an extra roster spot? I know that I've never intentionally abused the system, and it's not fair for someone who plays by the rules to have to compete with someone who won't.

On possible roster changes, I'd be in favor of starting more players, as the scarcity that used to exist at positions like 1B and RP and SS doesn't seem the same, anymore. But too many players is going to make rosters unwieldy, too. Maybe an additional pitcher (could start 8 SP/RP per game instead of 7), an added UI or 2, and an added OF slot, and increase the roster size to 29 or 30?

Sam, exactly where did I "blow up" at Fade? I was not intentionally cheating, as I noted I've witnessed this in the past by other teams doing the same against my squad. If I would have known it was cheating I would have said something long ago, as Fade did to me. I'd be happy to give up last weeks win to make up for it. It was an honest mistake, and I'll accept whatever you guys decide.

BTW- Pujos scored 30 something points in 2 days on IR, Justin 8 in 3 days. Kinda kicked my own ass in the process.

Maybe I'm horribly naive, but here's where I draw the line. I'm OK when someone leaves a guy on the DL even after he comes back healthy, provided there's another guy on their roster who's hurt and taking up an active roster spot. For example, Rook has a guy, Soto, who's back in action but still listed on his DL. But he doesn't gain a competitive advantage because he's got another guy, Billingsley, with a red dot who is still taking up an active roster spot. He just hasn't made the move to activate Soto and IR Billingsley. No big deal.

I draw the line, though, at moving a guy who's healthy, with no red dot, onto the IR. In fact, the game mechanics shouldn't allow it. Since they do, we have to avoid it ourselves. I think we should also be required to move a healthy guy back to the active roster if there are no other IR candidates to take his place. I hope you do call it out when you see it happen. I hope it doesn't happen anymore.

And I don't want you to forfeit a win or whatever, just don't make that mistake again. Now we're all on the same page, where I thought we were 3 seasons ago. :p

    Sam,

Thanks for using me as an example - :p . Especially with a guy like Soto who has been on the DL since July 1st and just got activated Friday (I need to act quicker ;) )- could you have not found a better example - :D . Anyways, I can't really put Billingsley, because I think he is planning on starting Monday, even though he's got a red dot.

In all seriousness, just giving you a hard time, I know what you were trying to say...............

I will, and if you noticed I fixed my squad and all IR spots are taken by actual red dots, and I'll just have to drop a player when one becomes healthy. Being very truthful, I do apologize for this mess and I'd even be willing to forfeit my season to save grace with you guys. I swear I was not trying to cheat whatsoever, and I take all the blame. Fade should take none of it as he's only doing the job of being a great commish.

Smeg, send me an offer. I'm looking for a SP, and there's two on your squad I'd be willing to deal for.

Do lineups not default to previous week if you forget to set them for a matchup?

Pitching games used through week 37:

    Rook: 132 SP, 100 RP
    Aliens: 124 SP, 104 RP
    DH: 99 SP, 96 RP
    Jent: 143 SP, 99 RP
    Expos: 127 SP, 104 RP
    LH: 124 SP, 104 RP
    Smeg: 113 SP, 107 RP
    PSJ: 121 SP, 104 RP

    Maximums: 155 SP, 130 RP

Anyone notice that my team has been in an absolute free fall lately. The boyz picked a bad time to slump.

Wish I could have had that kind of production all season long! My guys dropped the hammer down this week, both on offense and pitching.

With my luck, watch them drop back to 120 or so the next game...

Ok, so remind me again. How does playoff seeding work? Is it the top two teams from each league, or the top four teams in wins?

BTW- How's second taste, Rook? :p

One winner from each division plus two wild cards regardless of division. If the season ended right now, playoff teams would be Rook, LongHorn, jent and the Aliens.

Here are the pitching games used:

    Rook: 142 SP, 109 RP
    Aliens: 136 SP, 117 RP
    DH: 107 SP, 110 RP
    jent: 154 SP, 110 RP
    Expos: 137 SP, 113 RP
    LH: 135 SP, 115 RP
    Smeg: 123 SP, 117 RP
    PSJ: 132 SP, 117 RP

    Max: 155 SP, 130 RP

Notice to jent: you have only one SP game left. Once that game is used, the other SPs in your lineup will be removed.

Jent: Buehrle pitched last night, which puts you at the 155 game limit for SPs. Lackey and Weaver have been removed from your lineup, as will any more SPs going forward.
