    LHFan,

All I can say is the stars are aligned just perfectly for me to take it all this year..............I don't know what else to say. The funny thing was going in to our match-up I was basically conceeding this week, because I only had the one pitcher to start and he goes out and scores 55 points - go figure.

I am definitely not scoring the most points, just seem to get everyone on the right week or my team just does enough to get me the victory.

Does anyone need a closer? All of mine are available and I am willing to sell very cheaply.

I'm primarily interested in draft picks, but I'll listen to any deal. Here is who is available:

David Weathers - Been surprisingly steady and consistent. Is currently the #16 ranked closer overall.

Jeremy Accardo - Had been lights out since taking over the Jays closing job. He had a couple of rough days recently, but should be top tier the rest of the way. 2.36 ERA

Chad Cordero - Great stats but limited by a poor team. If he gets traded to a contender at the All Star break, he could be among the best at the position. 2.76 ERA

Mariano Rivera - Is turning on the juice after a poor start. He will require a bit more than the other guys.

Brett Myers - He was lights out before hitting the DL. Carries more risk than the other guys, but could end up being the best of the lot. Should return to action very soon.

    Interesting stats:

The worst team in the West division currently has the exact same total points as the best team in the East division: 3383.

The #1 ranked team in the West division, Rook's team, has the fewest total points in the division: 3377.

The #1 ranked team in the East division, LHFan, is ranked 5th, 9th and 9th overall on the "What If..." pages. Rook, who is currently winning the league, is 7th, 6th and 7th. Surprisingly strong showing by the Expos on these pages.

Jent's team is the most unbalanced, with a mind-blowing 2296 pts coming from batting and only 1459 pts coming from pitching. Only Castor's pitching total is lower.

PSJ has been the unluckiest team this year, having allowed a total of 3875 total pts from opposing teams.

With his victory this week, Castor just snapped a 10 game losing streak.

The longest winning streak so far this year is 8 games, held by Rook.

I just realized that for some reason 6 games ago I mistakenly inserted Matt Morris in my lineup instead of Papelbon. So I've been going with 6 SP and 1 RP. Wierd.

That's what I get for just assuming my lineup is always right.

For some reason I cannot log in today. I need to change out Andruw Jones for Aaron Rowand in the OF.

I forgot how we did this in the past. Is the next week of the schedule Thursday - Sunday?

The official word is that Thursday gets added to the Fri-Sun period for only one play period this week (Thu-Sun).

Just a reminder that the trade deadline is coming up in just over two week (July 31). After that, trading will be closed until the end of the season.

Now is the time for teams in contention to try to grab that extra piece of the puzzle to push them over the edge. Likewise, since we're a keeper now, this is also the time for the bottom-dwellers to sell off their assets and try to improve their position for next year by upgrading keepers and draft picks.

As for me, I don't think there's much hope for me, so I'm going to be a seller. Solid guys like Alex Rios, Kelly Johnson, Nick Swisher, Frank Thomas and any of my closers (Rivera, Accardo, Weathers, C.Cordero, Myers) are all available for the best offer received - mainly interested in draft picks, but will listen to other offers. I'm willing to deal with anyone except Smeg since he's just a big tease (you know it's true :p ).

Does anybody have an ESPN Insider account? I curious to see what ESPN's top 300 for the 2nd half of the season looks like. THanks.

Here`s an update on SP and RP games used through week 29:

    LHornFan: 105 SP, 90 RP
    Smeg: 98 SP, 74 RP
    PSJ: 99 SP, 88 RP
    Fade: 99 SP, 91 RP
    Castor: 92 SP, 85 RP

    SamC: 113 SP, 78 RP
    Jent: 89 SP, 93 RP
    Rook: 96 SP, 86 RP
    BFinn: 105 SP, 78 RP
    DHorse: 102 SP, 72 RP

    SP Max: 155 games
    RP Max: 130 games

The last update I posted was incorrect because the formula in my spreadsheet didn't extend all the way down. These numbers should be correct.

FYI: The recent trade includes a draft pick exchange (Alex Rios/Fade's 6th rounder for Jermaine Dye/Rook's 3rd rounder). This info, and any other future pick trades, will be recorded on the league site's "rules" page.

Why is my catcher all of a sudden, not in my line-up....did I do something?

I don't know, but it likely has something to do with the fact that you have eight pitchers in your starting lineup, which is illegal (and shouldn't be possible).

Anyway, I re-inserted Russell Martin and removed one of your RPs (Lidge). None of your RPs have scored any points up to now.

Just a reminder that the MLB trade deadline is in 4 days. I'm surprised there hasn't been more activity in our league. Now is the time to lock up a player for the playoff push or sell off to reposition for next year.

    Also, some other miscellaneous information:

    - Playoffs will be 4 teams (two division winners and two wildcards). First round will be two game periods added together (Mon-Thu and Fri-Sun). One small change is that instead of starting 5 SPs in each period, you will instead have a total of 8 SP games to use throughout the entire round (both periods). I think this will be better because it will decrease the reliance on waiver wire SP pickups.

So, for example, a possible playoff pitching starting lineup could look something like this:

    (Mon-Thu period):

    SP: Dan Haren
    SP: Ted Lilly
    SP: Derek Lowe
    RP: Joe Nathan
    RP: Huston Street

    (Fri-Sun Period):

    SP: Joe Blanton
    SP: Sean Marshall
    SP: Ted Lilly
    SP: Derek Lowe
    SP: Jon Lester
    RP: Joe Nathan
    RP: Huston Street

8 total SP games used for the week. 2 RPs always starting.

    - Draft order for next year. The champion will pick last. The remaining spots will be determined by total points (not record). The team with the lowest overall total points will pick 1st, etc... I'm also open to allowing teams to pick their draft position (i.e. worst team gets to choose his draft spot first, etc...) because maybe people feel that the #1 spot is not the best place to be. Let me know how you would feel about this type of system.

    - Penalty for unused games. For any SP and RP games that are left unused at the end of the season, a penalty of 20 pts and 10 pts respectively will be added to a team's overall points total for the purposes of determining draft order. This will eliminate the unfair advantage that a team which chooses not to use all of his pitching games (i.e. tanking) would have.

    Any questions?
